Gold Coast cycling club has an event on today at the cycle centre. Maybe best to use an alternative entrance if looking to ride today. Or be extra considerate when crossing.
Cheers.

Yesterday on our club social ride we noticed a new trail in the park.

Illegal trail building in Nerang might seem harmless, but it can have serious consequences for the entire MTB community.

Every new unauthorised trail irritates the land manager, damages trust, and makes it harder to advocate for ongoing access, future trail development, and positive relationships with park authorities. A few rogue trails can jeopardise years of work by the club, volunteers, and riders working to secure long-term access.

If we want mountain biking to continue in Nerang, we need to protect the trails and access we already have — not put them at risk.

Ride existing trails ONLY. Support the Club’s ongoing advocacy against the proposed track closures in the DRAFT Management Plan. Work with land managers, not against them. The future of access depends on it.

Wishing our wonderful Gold Coast Mountain Bike community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season!

As the year draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who supports the Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club through financial membership. Your commitment truly keeps the wheels turning. Without you, there would be no GCMTB.

We’re also grateful to the broader riding community who turned up throughout the year, whether it was just joining along on our organised social rides, pitching in at trail care dig days, or simply sharing a friendly chat and a smile out on the trails. It’s this spirit that makes the green behind the gold special.

A special festive shout-out goes to our Dirt Groms and their parents, which enjoyed another fantastic year. Watching so many enthusiastic young riders learn, grow, and fall in love with mountain biking fills us with optimism for the future of the sport. Rest assured, we are as committed as ever to growing our coaching program to accommodate more young riders.

We hope your Christmas is filled with joy, laughter, family time, and plenty of great rides. Here’s to an amazing 2026 and many more adventures together on two wheels!
