I just wanted to share a little something about why some of you may have seen me in tears yesterday and today.

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my beautiful Indy Girl, and I am absolutely heartbroken. For 13 years she was by my side — my constant companion, my shadow, and such a huge part of my life. Now, she isn’t.

So if you’ve seen me with tears in my eyes, please know I’m just trying to get through the hardest part of saying goodbye to my girl.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has sent messages, given me hugs and shown me so much kindness. I have truly needed it, and I sincerely appreciate every single one of you.

One day at a time. ❤️

At Swim Stars, we DON’T teach overarm freestyle to beginner swimmers.

And there’s a simple reason…

If the kick isn’t strong enough, the arms are NOT ready.

We focus first on:

🦵 Long legs
⚡ Fast, strong kicks
💙 Streamline position
🔄 Underwater swapping arms
🏊‍♀️ Strong body position

Because when you throw overarm freestyle at a child with a weak kick, you often get sinking legs, dropped hips and a swimmer snaking their way up the pool trying desperately to get their arms over.

It might look like freestyle…

BUT IT ISN’T GOOD FREESTYLE.

We build the foundation first. Then we add the arms.

We aren't interested in making children look like they're swimming.

WE WANT THEM TO ACTUALLY SWIM. 💙

Strong kick first.
Strong body position next.
Then the arms.

That’s how we build strong swimmers at Swim Stars. 🏊‍♀️

“They’re only 3… they’re too young to float by themselves.”

🤔 Think again.

We hear it all the time — “They’re too little,” “They don’t understand,” “They’re only a toddler.”

But give a child the right teaching, the right support and the right expectations, and you might be surprised by what they can actually achieve.

This little guy is just 3 years old and he can swim independently with great technique AND calmly roll onto his back and float by himself. 👏💦

That’s not just impressive.

That’s a potentially life-saving skill.

Because if he ever found himself in trouble in the water, he doesn’t need to panic or rely on someone else to tell him what to do.

He knows:

ROLL.
TO.
FLOAT.

And that is exactly why we don’t believe in putting limits on children simply because of their age.

Three is not “too young.”
Toddlers are capable.
And water safety skills shouldn’t wait.

Confidence is wonderful.

But skills save lives. 💙
