This week 55 incredibly dedicated parkpeople ran, jogged, walked and swam the course. Well done to every one of you for braving the rain today.

We welcomed a tourist from Perth today, Peter CONSTABLE, and a new local junior ran her first "official" parkrun today, Peyton HINES. Hopefully we see a lot more of Peyton, she's a speedy one.

Congratulations to Jayden CAMM, Amy SMITH, Phillip TOWNSEND and Simon ORTEGA who recorded new Personal Bests.

Newborough parkrun started on 25th February 2017. Since then 3,196 participants have completed 27,626 parkruns covering a total distance of 138,130 km, including 3,428 new Personal Bests. A total of 381 individuals have volunteered 4,237 times.

🌧️ WELL, WE WERE WRONG! 🌧️

Looks like the weather did have a sense of humour… and it ate our “pouring with rain” forecast for breakfast! 😂

But seriously, if you’re sitting at home thinking, “Surely they’re not still running in THAT,” … YES, WE ARE! 🤣

Come on down to Newborough parkrun this morning. It’s only water, and it washes off… eventually. 😜

Bring your rain jacket, your sense of humour, and maybe a towel for the car seat. Because nothing says “I’m a serious runner” quite like squelching your way to the finish line! 🏃‍♀️💦

And remember, the wetter you get, the more impressive your post-run coffee becomes. ☕😂

The weather looks like it might stay dry until after parkrun tomorrow morning, so we’re keeping everything crossed! 🤞🤞

We’ve got all our core volunteer positions filled for this Saturday 🎉👏 — but that doesn’t mean we don’t have room for a few extra helping hands!

Or if you’d like to be the friendly face who welcomes our newbies and helps them feel at home, we’d love to have you try out our First Timers Welcome! 🥰
