These ladies stay strong so they can lift their heavy grand babies and suitcases ๐ช to travel the world!
They lift heavy weights with a sprinkling of Pilates and lots of steps.
Main thing is they are consistent โ

Meet Sally
I met Sally in 2018 at City Balance in a group of 3 PT Clients.
She has been doing PT with me twice a week even through Covid.
We have been through the loss of family and pets and injuries but have always kept up the training where possible and she always has a positive attitude and a smile.
Today we tested her leg strength for some end of year PBโs
Leg press 60kg x 3 reps
Leg ext 35kg x 1
She has very strong legs which she needs to continue traveling the world ๐๐ช

Meet Ellen
Ellen started strength training 3months ago and is so enthusiastic and has such a great vibe!
Her GP told her to lift heavy weights and she embraced it.

She has consistently increased all her lifts and last Thursday got PB for
Deadlift 50kg x 3
Squat 42.5 x 6
Cannot wait to see what happens next year ๐ช

Meet Mel she never gives up!
She is recovering from recent brain surgery and just loves the way exercise makes her feel.
She has her sights set on a couple of races next year and her training has recommenced so strong.
Most sessions she has already warmed up with 2-3km before we do our sprint training.

I had my 1st broken bone recently.
Fractured right toe in 3 places and advised to rest for 12 weeks.
Seated leg and arm exercises have become my go to strength moves and it has been interesting and encouraging how much I have increased my weights over 12 weeks.
Cardio is another story - being sedentary for 12 weeks when you are normally extremely active has been a shock to my body. I recently started swimming and have gradually increased to 1km x 2 per week. It has been a great way to get the HR back up.
MESSAGE FROM MY EXPERIENCE
You can always train something with an injury! Just more inventive
BIGGEST MESSAGE
Incidental steps matter!! If you are sedentary you will gain weight even if you are an experienced PT.
I gained 3kg over the 12 weeks which does not sound like a lot but imagine if I had to stay sedentary for 6months.
I am not obsessing about this weight gain just wanted to share how important our daily steps are ๐
Boot came off this week and I am really excited ๐๐ป to get back to my normal routine. Also thankful for the opportunity to try a new less impact sport ๐ and of course I can now help you keep training with an injury ๐ช

Congratulations Merewether Carlton 1st grade premiers 2024!!! So proud of the team and the coaches and managers - special mention to my Marty and Lachlan for achieving this special achievement together.
Marty did it in 1989 in no 15 with a try and Lachlan did the same playing in the same position and number 35 years later ๐
