Club Jive Dance Newcastle

Club Jive Dance Newcastle Club Jive teach a fun and easy style of partner dancing called 'Modern Jive', based in Mayfield, Newcastle NSW. Anyone can learn! You just have to start.

Club Jive teach Modern Jive, the smooth modern dance style that's easy to learn and suitable for all ages. Modern Jive originated in France in the late 1940's and has been evolving ever since! It is a mix of various dance styles including Salsa, Latin, Rock & Roll, Ballroom and Tango as well as most recently, West Coast Swing. You don't need a partner as classes work on a rotational basis so you will dance with beginners, intermediate and advance dancers alike. You can start at any time during the year as every week is taught as a brand new beginner class, always going over the basic hand-hold and footwork for the style. It's fun, it's easy and best of all you can hit the dance floor immediately! With a multitude of social events and nights out dancing, we offer you a safe and fun environment where you will connect with like minded people and increase your social calendar! Ever caught yourself tapping your foot in a restaurant or swaying while walking through the park? That urge to dance isn't just about the music—it’s your body asking for a boost! 💃✨

Spontaneous dancing is more than just a fun moment; it’s a powerful health hack. Science tells us that dancing releases "feel-good" endorphins that actively reduce stress and anxiety, while simultaneously boosting your heart health, balance, and cognitive function. It's the ultimate stress-reliever that helps you disconnect from daily worries and get "in the zone".

Ready to turn that spontaneity into confidence?

Modern Jive is the perfect way to build that confidence. It’s fun, social, and beginner-friendly, focusing on simple movements that let you find your own rhythm rather than stressing about being perfect. Once you get those basics down, you’ll find that "nervous" feeling replaced by the freedom to dance whenever the mood strikes—whether you're at a party, in a restaurant, or just enjoying a beautiful day outside.

Come join us and find your rhythm!

Whether you have two left feet or just want to meet new people, we’d love to welcome you. No partner needed—just bring yourself!
