Missed last weeks! Sorry! But here it is and a snippet: link below and in my about info to read it all and my other blog posts. Have a great week!
Fully dropped the ball this week! Since launching my online PT and nutrition site and advertising my face to face training almost 10 weeks ago AND adding classes to my workload, my alarm goes off at 4.30am. Everyday. Not complaining because this is awesome! This is the busy working mum thing, it’s ok to drop the ball occasionally! We’ve also had swimming carnivals, parent teacher interviews, footy games 2hours away and a bloody 15mth old that is a little nocturnal at times. Whilst I hate missing deadlines, even ones I set myself, last week I just couldn’t do it all. My weekly blog was the victim unfortunately, because I chose being kind to myself instead.
This week I reflect on my time working as a manager in big box gyms versus small 24/7 versions. I’m doing this because I think it’s important to remember where we came from, good and bad these experiences shape the person I am today.
When I was offered my first role as a general club manager in a fitness club I had absolutely
no idea what I was in for. I was a membership consultant for a whole nine days before I was offered my own little club. I am damn sure I was considered a ‘band-aid

Growing up, I was Daddy’s little girl. His little sweetheart that could do no wrong.
I thought my Dad was the smartest man on the planet. He was strict and let us know that there was no alternative. It was his way or the highway. I have fond memories growing up with motorbikes and horses and a bit of a Tom boy nature.
When I was about 15 I heard him tell a mate, I’ve lost my little girl, it’s all about boys now.
We definitely butted heads during my teenage years, but from the time I had my first job at 15 he knew he didn’t need to worry about me.
‘She’s got her head screwed on right’ he’d say.
I did well at school, I was sporty, independent, strong willed and in a long term relationship with a boy he loved by the time I was 19.
As the middle child of his three children, I was the good girl who’s worst offence growing up was being over heard saying,
‘it’s okay, I’ll sweet talk him’
Which was about the only time I didn’t actually sweet talk him.

What a week! Appreciation post! Im so grateful to my clients old and new! As my class launch week comes to a close… Massive Thank You to you all that came to a class this week! To my amazing long time clients that have weathered so many storms this past year or so, thank you for sticking with me and for continuing to show up! Especially on the days you don’t want to! And to all my new online clients for letting me into your homes via zoom every morning! You are awesome and making me look outside the square every session! To my beautiful boys and partner, thank you for letting me wake you all up everyday at dumb o’clock by making too much noise in the gym, without one complaint! You all have validated my reason why over and over and I’m grateful for you all! Have an amazing weekend and see all next week to do it all again!! Christy

Snippet of this weeks little blog!
Early last week I asked a new client to weigh herself before our Zoom session. I was preparing her fitness testing and client appraisal info.
She sent me a reply that is just about the coolest thing I’ve heard this year, but at the same time something I struggled to get my head around.
‘I’m sorry but I don’t own any scales.’
This, on so many levels is freaking awesome. You see, she’s a forty something busy working mum with a teenage daughter (plus a pre-teen son). Building body confidence with a teenager is an uphill battle from the get go. Trust me, I don’t have a daughter but sons come with body image issues of their own!
Anyway I’m getting off track!
Point is, she has no idea what she weighs, her clothes told her she wants to lose weight, her winter sport tells her she wants to improve her fitness and her mood tells her she wants to workout for her mental happiness. She’s setting this amazing example for her daughter to not live and die by the number on the scales. They live an active lifestyle, eat well and would have absolutely no idea what calorie counting is and have never been on a ‘diet’. It’s refreshing.
Part of me is jealous.
Part of me is envious
I wish I was like that.
I have been a slave to my bathroom scales forever.

Bloody terrifies me doing this post. But I need to be proud of how for I’ve come.
Photo 1 is from 3/10/22 and the other is today. The difference in the photos is 28kgs.
I was postpartum 11months, had broken my leg in August and was at rock bottom. I loathed myself and was petrified I’d never be a personal trainer again because who would want to train with me like that?
My workouts started at 15mins every 2nd day. My diet was cleaned out and slowly I started to feel stronger, lighter and less disgusted in myself. Reminding myself that I created a life didn’t always help be was something I had to remind myself of constantly. Today I’m 10kg away from my pre pregnant self. I’m back training, I’m still eating well and my workouts are sometimes 1.5hrs. I’m definitely still a work in progress but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Trying to practice what I preach which is ‘to love thy self’.
My group classes, online personal training and face to face PT is all up and running now, and I’m so excited that my passion for health and fitness and helping people has well and truly been restored.
Thanks in advance for not judging guys!
