Sorry for missing out a few days but it will give the family something to talk about when we see them next.
I am sure that NCA are very proud of Olivia.

Day 3: 720 Qualifying Round and Doubles Matchplay.

Weather report: cold with a side of sunshine! No rain but definite snow wind!

Today was the best day yet. 40m shoot, 72 arrows. This is the event Liv enjoys. And it showed. She shot a regular PB by 1pt and a competition PB by 29pts!!! Absolutely smashed it! She was so locked in and focused. Ended up with 627/720, which means she’s ranked 5th in Australia for U16 Female Recurve! Considering the bumps in the road…this is an amazing result! She’s proud of her shots, Boss is proud of her shooting and we are proud of her resilience and determination.

Unfortunately, Liv and Juliette (Frogeo and Juliette) didn’t advance in their doubles match after some power shooting, but tomorrow is individual matchplay, which is Liv’s all time favourite event ever. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

A huge thank you for everyone’s support today (and last night). The love that everyone shows towards Liv really lifted her today and helped her perform to her best.

Without the support of the following businesses, Liv couldn’t pursue her dreams.

It is so rewarding when two people rock up to try our favourite sport and after about an hour of tuition are able to get a dozen arrows so tight.
Even when the target was moved further away they still chased the gold.
Well done.

As the Boss said, ā€œPBs dropping like fliesā€ - another 12 point PB today šŸ«¶šŸ¼ That makes 3 PBs in 4 weeks across 3 different events.

We journeyed to Coastal Archery today for an Indoor shoot…something different and a chance to catch up with Boss Dad before Nationals. Liv shot really well, even with a slight hiccup towards the back half of the first bracket. She dealt with it fine and finished strong.

We feel Liv is as well prepared for Tassie as she can be, both mentally and technically. A huge thank you to our Coastie friends for coming and cheering her on today. We appreciate all the support we get from our strong village šŸ«¶šŸ¼šŸøšŸ¹

Great things keep happening šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Yesterday, Alison Penfold MP for Lyne came to Chatham High School - Official to present Liv with her Local Sporting Champions grant. This money helps with the costs involved in representing at national championships. It was amazing to chat with Alison and tell her all about archery and the challenges of living in regional areas when accessing high level sports.

Thank you for your time and for listening to Liv speak about what she loves.

Everyone had a good day it seemed yesterday with the xmas novelty shoot and presentation day.
The early start turned out to be the good decision with the heat really hitting as soon as the events were over.
The golden older ones were won by the ladies and so many wanted to have a go at longbow, bows were getting loaned out as were arrows. Maybe next time they will all have their own bows.
The major awards went to two very deserving members.
The Coaches Award went to Gail Williams and the Club Person of the year is Dustin Mallinson. Thanks to Adrian for organising the cold food. Noone would want to be cooking a BBQ with the weather at 39 degrees.
Thanks to Dustin and crew for setting up the gazebos and everything else.
Next one is Easter and better weather.
