What is Few For Shoe?

Few for Shoe is a local Not For Profit charity that was founded by locals to help locals. We came about after loosing Liam ‘Shoey’ Schumacher to su***de. His fiancee Clare and older sister Ainsley decided they never wanted anyone to feel this pain or feel that they had to take their life due to their mental health declining. The Few For Shoe team decided we would use surfing, Shoeys great passion, as a vector to bring everyone together, start conversations and support our community. As we continue to grow into other sports and branches within this community, we made it our mission to help as many people as possible by funding education surrounding su***de prevention and supporting people to seek professional mental health services.

Our promise to the community.

From profits raised from the 2025 Few For Shoe, the team were able to fully fund a ASISIT Training course. We had 25 people attend this 2 day course and learn how to recognize when someone is struggling, have the confidence to hold that conversation with them and then to bring them back to a place of safety.

Mental health and su***de is an ongoing issue within our community and only becoming more prevalent, so by having people within our community with these skills, it will save a life.

We at Few For Shoe have made it our mission to help others struggling with mental health. We are locals helping locals.
