We are honoured to receive this Community Recognition Statement from Richie Williamson MP, acknowledging the success of our Women’s Smash event and the continued growth of women’s and girls cricket in our region.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our players, volunteers and supporters who have worked hard to build inclusive opportunities and strong pathways for the women’s game.

Planning is already underway for the future, with the region's first women’s league set to launch this coming season, and we look forward to seeing the Women’s Smash continue to grow.

Securing funding like this is a big win for our club and it will play an important role in maintaining our facilities and ensuring our playing fields stay at a high standard for everyone to enjoy 💚🏏

Great news for Casino Cricket Club with a $10,000 funding boost secured through the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program to support important upgrades to the club’s turf cricket facilities at Queen Elizabeth Park.

I recently joined club representatives and players to welcome the announcement, which will help deliver irrigation systems to the club’s two turf wickets — QE7 (John McDonald Oval) and QE2.

The project will improve pitch maintenance, support regional-standard facilities and help ensure local cricket continues to thrive for senior, junior and female players alike.

Local sporting clubs play such an important role in our communities and this funding will help Casino Cricket Club continue to provide fantastic playing facilities while attracting teams and competitions from across Northern NSW.

Congratulations to the committee, volunteers and players on their successful application and thank you for everything you do for community sport in the Richmond Valley.
