NSW government accused of hiding shark reality and understating data 20/06/2026

We need to open up the discussion.
The government is misleading people and have for been for years.
I've been looking into different shark deterrents and shark bite resistant wetsuits and hopefully have products in store shortly.
Joel from Hunter SHARK JAW Restoration is also doing real life testing on products as most products are not even tested in Australia on Australian sharks.
Like always i dont sell products that do not work its my reputation and my business Spear & Fish Downunder on the line.
This is one of the reasons I do not sell and tell people the truth about Sharkbanz

NSW government accused of hiding shark reality and understating data The NSW government has been accused of misleading the public on shark numbers as outrage continues to build over bureaucratic inaction in the face of increased attacks.

Three shark attacks in Sydney in the last 48 hours, and another at Point Plummer today.

Do not swim in floodwater β€” it’s that simple.

Sharks 🦈 have moved out of the rivers and are currently feeding inshore along beaches and around headlands.

Please wait until the water clears.

We don’t need a shark cull β€” we need awareness and an understanding of shark behaviour.
Sharks are not killers and do not actively hunt humans. In these recent incidents, sharks are feeding in dirty water, and swimmers or surfers are entering that environment. We can’t blame the shark for making a mistake β€” it’s unfortunate, but totally preventable.

As spearfishers and freedivers, we rarely experience aggressive shark behaviour. Clearer water, eye contact, and understanding body language make a huge difference. On the rare occasions a shark does become assertive, we calmly redirect it, prod it away with a speargun, or gently push it off if needed β€” maintaining space, not harming the animal.

Spend enough time in the water and you learn to read shark energy, movement, and intent. Sharks are very predictable once you understand these cues.

Stay informed. Stay safe. Respect the ocean.

πŸ”₯ NEW PB FOR SAM πŸ”₯

After years of putting in the work and landing plenty of quality jewfish, Sam has finally cracked a personal best β€” 35 kg πŸ’ͺ
One he might not beat for a long while.
This past month (and a bit) has been absolutely firing for big jewfish.
