🏴‍☠️🌊 Another cracking Sunday with the Newcastle Pirates! 🌊🏴‍☠️

What a fantastic swim we had this Sunday with a wonderful turnout! 🙌 It’s great to see so many smiling faces braving the winter waters together. 💙❄️

The water is holding at a beautiful 17°C 🌡️🏊‍♂️ (we’ll take that while it lasts! 😉), although the wind definitely had a bit more bite than the water today! 🌬️🥶

A huge thank you to our soup maker who may have attempted to poison a few Pirates with an enthusiastic amount of peppercorns… 😂🌶️☠️ Thankfully, everyone survived and agreed the soup was still delicious! 🍲😋

Our Pirates also got to put our brand new swim caps to the test🧢💙. They certainly helped keep our pirate heads nice and warm!

Can you believe we’re already halfway through the winter season? 🤯❄️ If you’ve been thinking about giving winter swimming a go, there’s still plenty of time to join us. Everyone is welcome—young, old, first-timers and seasoned swimmers alike! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️❤️

🌊🏴‍☠️ What an absolutely HUGE Sunday for the Newcastle Pirates! 🏴‍☠️🌊

The weather gods were kind enough to hold off just long enough for us to enjoy another fantastic morning at the baths! 🌤️🌊💙

A massive thank you to our great mates, the Gropers from Cooks Hill, who joined us for a swim! 🤝🏊 There was plenty of friendly rivalry, laughs and just a little healthy competition! 😜🏆

The final race was one for the history books… 🤯🏁
7 swimmers… 6 disqualifications… which meant the LAST swimmer across the line was crowned the WINNER! 😂👏 A classic Pirates finish and, best of all… a PIRATES VICTORY! 🏴‍☠️🥇🎉

After all that excitement we tucked into the most delicious 🎃 pumpkin soup, kindly provided by the Gropers (it certainly hit the spot! 😋🍲), along with plenty of sizzling 🥓🍳 bacon and egg sandwiches fresh off the BBQ. 🌭🔥

A fantastic morning of swimming, friendship, food and plenty of laughs. 😄❤️

☀️🏊‍♂️🐳 What a cracker of a winter swim today! 🐳🏊‍♀️☀️

The winter swimming gods were certainly smiling on us today 😇 with loads of sunshine 🌞, a crystal-clear pool 💙, and even a spectacular whale show just off the baths 🐋🐋. It doesn’t get much better than that!

We had a fantastic line-up of swimmers today 👏🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️, with some serious family rivalry heating up the final race 😆🏁. Bragging rights are always on the line at the Pirates!

After all that hard work in the water, we tucked into a soup that rated very highly on the official (and highly scientific 😉) Pirates Soup Scale 🍲🏆. It was then off to our wonderful sponsors at Lowlands Bowling Club🍻 for a few quick drinks, plenty of laughs, and some post-swim storytelling.

We had an absolutely fantastic swim on Sunday 😃🙌 with a massive turnout for the long weekend 🎉☀️, including 6 brand-new swimmers joining the Pirates crew! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️👏🎊

There was plenty of splashing 🌊, smiling 😁, chatting 🗣️ and swimming 🏊‍♂️💨 before everyone headed ashore for what can only be described as a seriously award-worthy soup! 🍲🏆🤤

In fact, it was such a hit that Pirates were scraping the bottom of the pot for every last skerrick! 🥄😋🍲💯 A genuine contender for the coveted Best Soup Award 🏆👨‍🍳👏

🏴‍☠️☀️ What a fantastic morning with the Pirates last Sunday! ☀️🏴‍☠️

The sun was shining, the smiles were bright, and the racing was as competitive as ever! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️💨

We saw some great swims and, once again, a few more disqualifications as our swimmers continue to get faster and faster! 😆🏁

After the swim, everyone enjoyed a delicious pea and ham soup 🥣 along with some tasty ANZAC biscuits 🍪 and plenty of good company and laughs.

If you’ve ever thought about giving winter swimming a go, now’s the perfect time! New swimmers are always welcome, regardless of age or ability. 🌊💙

A sprinkle of rain 🌧️, just enough sunshine ☀️, some big swell 🌊 and perfect conditions for a dip at the Baths!

The final was one for the history books 🤣🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️ — after a VERY competitive race, our winner ended up being the swimmer who came 4th… because everyone else was disqualified for breaking their handicaps! 😂👏

After the swim we warmed up with some absolutely delicious soup 🍲😋, plenty of laughs 😂 and great company ❤️

WINTER IS HERE!!🏴‍☠️❄️🌊

What a fantastic way to kick off the season last week! 💥
It was awesome to see so many new faces joining the crew, along with all the familiar old salty sea dogs back ready for another winter of swimming, laughs and good times ⚓

And let’s not forget the AMAZING curry sausage soup afterwards 🤤🍲 — absolute perfection after a dip in the ocean!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow for our FIRST DAY OF RACING! 🏁🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️
