What a fantastic way to kick off the season last week! 💥
It was awesome to see so many new faces joining the crew, along with all the familiar old salty sea dogs back ready for another winter of swimming, laughs and good times ⚓

And let’s not forget the AMAZING curry sausage soup afterwards 🤤🍲 — absolute perfection after a dip in the ocean!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow for our FIRST DAY OF RACING! 🏁🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

🌞🏊‍♂️ The winter swimming weather gods smiled on us today with beautiful sunshine for our Championships at Newcastle Baths! The water was a fresh 16 degrees ❄️🌊 but that didn’t stop the Pirates from powering through our races and the always fun Admirals Cup relay 🏆💪.

🥣🍳 The soup was extra delicious today 😋 and paired perfectly with our bacon & egg rolls 🥓🍳 – the ultimate post-swim fuel!

⚓️🏴‍☠️ Today was likely our last swim at Newcastle Baths for the season as the baths are closing for cleaning 🧽💦. But don’t worry – next week we’ll be heading up to Bar Beach to swim with the Gropers 🐟🤝🌊.

Brrr… the water was chilly yesterday, but believe it or not, it was even colder out of the water! 🥶🌬️ Still, nothing stops the mighty Newcastle Pirates from diving in! 💪🌊

We were joined by some special guests 🤩 who are working on the play 🎭 about the Newcastle Baths 🏖️ – it was awesome to have you swim with us! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️💙

And ohhh that post-swim soup… 🍲🤤 Absolutely delicious and just what we needed to thaw out! ❤️🔥

What a glorious day to be a Pirate! 🏴‍☠️ ☀️⛵ The sun was shining, the skies were blue, and the water… well, it’s just starting to get a bit nippy! 🧊 ❄️😄 But that didn’t stop our brave crew from diving in! 💦🏊‍♀️💪

The competition was ON 🏁🔥 — full of fun, laughter, and a few cheeky burglars!!😆⚔️🏴‍☠️

Afterwards, we warmed up with some delicious soup 🍲😋 — hot, hearty, and perfect after a chilly dip! 🧣🔥

Thanks to everyone who joined us today — swimmers, spectators, and soup-stirrers alike! ❤️🙌 You all brought the energy and the pirate spirit! ☠️⚓

What a brilliant winter swim today for the Newcastle Pirates! 🌊🏴‍☠️ The winter swimming weather gods turned on the best for us, making it feel more like spring than mid-July. ☀️🌈

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Gropers from Cooks Hill for some great racing —thanks for joining in the fun and bringing your awesome energy! 🤗🤝💙

The soup today provided by both clubs was absolutely outstanding—perfect for warming up and soup maker Jacqui turned it up a notch with brownies as well🥣🔥😋

And despite the winter chill, the water was still nice and warm at 17.5, with the pool overflowing from all the excitement. 💦🏊‍♂️😄

What a fantastic morning for the Pirates! 🌊❄️🧜‍♂️

We were honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor Dr Ross Kerridge - Lord Mayor of Newcastle as our special guest swimmer today! 🏊‍♂️👑👏

Just as we were about to brave the chilly waters, the weather surprised us and the sun came out shining, making it a perfect winter swim. ☀️🌤️😎

To top it all off, the soup was absolutely delicious and warmed us right up after our dip! 🍲🔥😋

We are already looking forward to next week when the Cooks Hill Gropers will be joining us for another memorable swim! 🐟👋

The Pirates had another stunner Sunday down at Newcastle Baths perfect for winter swimming ☀️☀️🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️
Today we also had many guest appearances with dolphins 🐬, whales 🐋, a fun seal 🦭 and a group writing a play about Newcastle Baths - they jumped in to get the full feel for winter swimming!!
Our final winner - Gav - also made a winner of a soup to warm us all up!! 🏆🎉
