🏊🏻‍♀️ Holiday Swimming Program – VACSwim at Newman Aquatic Centre!

The Department of Education is running a VACSwim program, from 05 October to 10 October at Newman Aquatic Centre.

Open to kids aged 5–17, this fun and affordable program teaches vital swimming and water safety skills through the Swim & Survive curriculum.

🌟 2026 LIWA Conference 🌟

Last week Mel, Krystal, Pete, Alice, Jettah & Abby flew down to Perth to attend a 2-day intensive conference. Learning new strategies in managing teams, water chemistry, and getting ideas for new programs! They were lucky enough to hear speeches from Jelena Dokic, Micheal McQueen, Peter Bell & many other inspirational individuals.

🏆Upon conclusion of the conference, the staff got all dressed up and to attend the WA Aquatic & Recreation Industry Awards for the nominations below:

Krystal Thompson - Emerging Leader of the Year & Aquatic Technical Operator of the Year
Alice Singer - Swim Teacher of the Year
Newman Aquatic Centre - Aquatic Facility Safety Award
Nullagine Swimming Pool - Community Impact Award
