It’s another great month to be a Balboa Dancer. This month, not only do you have the chance to learn a slick routine in our 7.45pm timeslot, but we also have an advanced workshop with David Roebuck and Sarah Voss to really tune up those Bal skills before Brisbane Balboa Weekend.

Corner Pocket Swing is heading to the Marburg Meander! As part of the Ipswich Galvanised Festival, this 1940’s themed event will be a celebration of community, camaraderie, and heritage.

This free event will feature live music, story telling, some delicious food, historic venues, and a dance class run by yours truly!

TLDR: Tuesday Lindy Hop at the Danish Club on 1st Sep.

The most important part of a dance studio is the dance floor, and we don't want to open our studio before it is just right for you! We are busy installing a nice, shock-absorbing floor that will be gentle on our joints and smooth under foot.

Unfortunately we've had a little delay on that special floor, so we're back at the Danish Club for (hopefully) just one more class before moving to the new studio, but we really think the wait is worth it!

September 60 Second Showcases are BACK BABY!

In all our fluster over the new studio we almost forgot to get out the registration form for 60 Second Showcases! That’s right, you only have 3 weeks to get your friends together and come up with a minute of choreo to show off your chops to the swing community. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Can you believe August is almost over?

Swing-tember is going to be a little crazy so we're getting ahead of it! Here's what's going on this month:

Weekly classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays continue, but keep an eye on our socials for venues as it looks like there might be a little delay on the new studio 👀

Workshops are back on Saturday the 12th September with Advanced Balboa in the morning and Intro to Lindy Hop in the afternoon. Tell your friends and secure your place in advance!

Our Pocket Social on the 18th is a 60 Second Showcase Special! Get your friends together, put together a minute of choreography and SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT. EOI coming soon.

Then, the official Open Day of the new studio will be Saturday the 19th with 30-minute open-level specialty classes, a mini social, and snacks and raffles. Register via Zemamu to enter the draw for the door prize.

And if all that wasn't enough, we're back at the Marburg Meander in Ipswich on Saturday the 5th. Join us for a free day of music, storytelling, yummy food, and, of course, dancing.
