Friends Swimming

What a great morning at the Friends Swimming BBQ! Awesome to see so many swimmers hitting the pool during the school holidays!

Our first time trial is coming up on Saturday, October 17th, which is a great opportunity to chase QT’s for the Victorian Age Championships and the National Age Championships. We will be taking a team to both of these competitions.

We already have four swimmers qualified for the National Age Championships and one for the National MC Age Championships in April next year. Let’s see how many more we can get qualified!

Winter State Championships Recap

A massive congratulations to our 47 swimmers who competed at the recent 2026 Tasmanian Winter Long Course Championships!

Across the competition, we had a PB rate of over 63%, which is a huge number considering the size of our team!

We achieved 53 total medals, including 16 gold. 🥇

For the first time in club history, we medalled in every relay across every age group, as well as achieving our first Tasmanian relay state record!

A huge effort from everyone involved!

Also, a shoutout to Alex for his first time on ABC Radio on Wednesday afternoon, celebrating his 4 out of 5 individual SSATIS records! What an effort! He was the tiniest fraction over grabbing all five SSATIS records.

Max also grabbed the SSATIS 50m Backstroke record, while Alex, Archie, James and Harry Darko grabbed themselves a relay record.

What a weekend for the team!
