A Quarter Century of Inspirational Volunteering!

Margaret Armitage is a legend! Twenty Five years of volunteering for the North Mackay Bowls Club and at the age of 97 she has decided to call it a day. Margaret will be visiting the Club whenever she is able and avidly reads all the information she receives including how both the Ladies and Men’s Sections are performing in the competitions.

Her long list of service and achievements include:
• Selector, Senior Vice President and President (Ladies Section)
• Years of training and assessing our Club umpires
• Mackay District Umpire Chairperson and Presenter Assessor Umpiring
• Bowls Queensland Distinguished Service Member Award in 2020
• Making, supplying and fitting the corner flags on Greens 1 and 2 at our Club for 25 years.
President Hilary and Secretary Brenda made a special visit to Margaret this week to deliver a framed Certificate of Appreciation, Letter of Commendation and a bouquet of flowers.
