I’ve wanted to teach armwrestling for a very long time. Not only because I love the sport, but because there is something about it that I think is particularly useful in modern life.

It will make you strong, obviously. But armwrestling also teaches patience, resilience and restraint. When to guard your position and when to attack.

One of the first things you’ll learn is that your opponent is only half the battle you face. The other half is inside your head.

How long can you hold on? Do you trust your own decisions? Is your opponent controlling the match, or are you simply discovering your own limits?

We all seek comfort in life. We recoil from pain, adversity and seemingly insurmountable odds.

Armwrestling forces you to confront these things head on.

Adversity IS the game.

What happens next is up to you. It’s your choice.

Or is it?

What can you really do when there is no way out?
Who will you become in that moment?

This, to me, is the truest essence of sport. And few sports expose it quite as brutally as armwrestling.

For years I’ve wanted to build this into Melbourne Calisthenics, but with my own battles to conquer, I had more than one mountain to climb.

Now, I FINALLY have my table.

The Game Is On!

If you’d like to discover who you truly are, please join me at the table every Wednesday night from 7pm, and find out what remains when brute strength alone is no longer enough.

I love a good hearty slow cooked stew. I could comfortably live on them.

My next post tonight will be to reveal the grand result. Mmmmm I can taste it already.

If you’d like my tips and tricks for the best stew you’ve ever had, ask me in the gym or message me here.

Amen

New toys have arrived for the Strength Class.

Arm-wrestling straps for some seriously heavy pronation curls. 💪 They’ll be MUCH easier than using the belt straps.

We’re back next Wednesday at 7pm, and the class is completely FREE for now. Just rock up and train.

Last night’s first Strength Class was bloody good fun. Heavy lifts, calisthenics strength, grip work and plenty of arm-wrestling practice. A brilliant crew and a strong start. We’re already super keen to build on it and progress everything next Wednesday at 7pm. 💪
It will be a FREE class for a while as I get it set up. So come and enjoy now :)
