NCC 2025 does not just update clauses.
It also updates the technical standards sitting underneath the code.
→ NCC 2025 incorporates 36 new, amended or revised Australian Standards.
→ AS 4055 for housing wind loads has been updated to align with AS/NZS 1170.2.
→ AS 1926.1 for swimming pool safety barriers has been revised and adopted by reference.
→ AS 5346 introduces a new Deemed to Satisfy pathway for EIFS systems under Part H1 Structure.
→ AS 1668.2 covering mechanical ventilation has also been updated and referenced.
For building designers and assessors, these changes affect far more than compliance checklists.
Structure, cladding, ventilation and pool safety requirements have all shifted beneath the surface.
The standards floor has moved, and standard details may need to move with it.
