Jo and Andy are in WA for a huge weekend of dancing at Boogie Down South, Australia’s biggest Lindy Hop event of the year! Check out this video of the dance floor in full flight dancing to the Oz Big Band :-)

In this week's Intermediate class we took a deep dive into the wonderful world of Tuck Turn variations. The classic Tuck Turn is one of the first moves that we learn, but there are so many cool versions that you can try! Here's a demo of the options that we played with, where the leader can choose to send the follow out clockwise, anti-clockwise, continue the turn or redirect the catch. This class was inspired by the always awesome Soochan and Young from Korea.

Exciting news for Blues lovers... Spooky Southern Blues has just released some more passes for their big weekend of Blues in Adelaide at the end of October with Mike and Dan Legenthal!!! They have just released a couple more Follow passes (which were sold out), but get in quick. There's also a few lead and social passes left, but you snooze - you lose!

Swing Patrol North Sydney are running a series of Blues classes in the lead up to Southern Blues - they're the ideal way to get ready for a full weekend in Adelaide of Blues, Blues, Blues!

All-levels Ballroomin Blues with Jo and Andy - Tuesday 6th October 8pm
All-levels Jukin Blues with Jo and Andy - Tuesday 20th October 8pm
Blues workshop with Mike and Dan Legenthal - Wednesday 28th October 7.15-9.15pm

You can buy tickets for the two All-levels classes on the door, but tickets for the workshop with Mike and Dan will be available for pre-purchase from early October - make sure you follow us for all the details!

This week we were continuing with FAST dancing in Level 2 - building on our Jam Circle class last week. We did some fast foot drills to get our motors running at full speed, then explored how simplified footwork, shorter arm connection, and keeping it light and relaxed can all help us to move fast, but with style and without getting too out of breath! This demo is a lazy 202BPM!

What an amazing weekend at SLX! The Sydney Lindy Exchange is always a highlight of the Sydney dancing calendar, but this year was particularly epic.
Huge thanks to Bruce Elder and all of the team for putting on such a wonderful event. The bands were incredible, the Dancing was hot and a fabulous time was had by all.

Jo Yuen Andy, and were honored to be part of the judging team at the Australian Swing Dance Championships again, and this year the standard was even higher than last year. Props to all of the competitors for a wonderful competition, but you made our job as Judges really tough!

And it was really wonderful to see so many of our class students out, ripping up the dance floor and having an amazing time.

Can’t wait for next year, now time to rest ZZZZZ

The Sydney Lindy Exchange starts tonight! Yep, Sydney's biggest social dance weekend for the whole year is finally here. Tickets are still available and you can find all the info on the website here: https://www.sydneylindyexchange.com

What to expect?
Friday 7.00pm-2.00am - Australian Swing Dance Championships - it's competition night, so come and throw your hat in the ring or watch some incredible dancers compete, followed by social dancing till late at the Polish Club in Ashfield

Saturday 7.30-11.30pm - The Deco Dance - this is the big one! A beautiful ball at Leichhardt Town Hall with live music. Dress up and get fancy!

Saturday 11.30pm-3.00am - PJ Jam After Party - Then there's the famous PJ Jam at La Fiesta Dance Factory in Annandale till 3.00am.

Sunday 2.00-6.00pm - Swing Out at the Columbian - a relaxed and chilled afternoon of live music, dancing, drinks and hangs with your dance friends.
