📢 2027 WA Country Masters Carnival Update 📢

The WACCB wishes to advise that the 2027 WA Country Masters Carnival will be held in Bunbury from 14-16 January 2027, rather than its traditional end-of-March timeslot.

With Easter falling on 26-28 March 2027, scheduling the carnival in March would create significant challenges for the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association competition. Following discussions with stakeholders, the preferred option is to move the carnival to January and adopt a condensed format that also allows players to participate in the CSBP Senior Men's Country Week if they wish.

🏏 Proposed Carnival Schedule

📅Thursday 14 January 2027
• Round 1 (Twilight Match) - 3:00pm start
• Teams can travel on the day of play
• Opening Ceremony & Carnival Dinner at Forrest Park

📅Friday 15 January 2027
• Round 2 (Morning)
• Round 3 (Afternoon)

📅Saturday 16 January 2027
• Final Round (Morning)
•Presentations and lunch following the completion of matches

This revised format delivers a full carnival experience while allowing participants heading to CSBP Senior Men's Country Week to travel to Perth following the completion of the carnival on Saturday.

We wanted to share this update as early as possible to assist associations, clubs and players with their planning for the 2026/27 season.

After a thorough review of the Junior Cricket landscape, including participation data analysis, participant interviews and extensive workshops, Australian Cricket have implemented a number of enhancements to Junior Cricket. A key inclusion is a 60-minute, flexible format for participants who want to play the game.

Throughout the 2024/25 season all states & territories piloted Smash Series Cricket with outstanding results and have all included it into the new Junior Cricket Experience.
