Nestled in the calm waters of Sydney’s Middle Harbour, we offer sailing experiences for all ages—whether you're taking your first steps or racing competitively. Northbridge Sailing Club is an important part of the lifestyle for many local families. Located on the protected waters of Sydney's beautiful Middle Harbour, children learn to sail in calm water away from the busyness of the main harbour and dinghy sailors of all ages enjoy the competition of regular club sailing. Ages from 5 to 95. The club races a number of dinghy classes and members compete at all levels. Being a local club means the social aspects of membership are particularly important for children and teenagers especially. Parents like the fact it is a healthy outdoor environment away from computers and television. Friendships formed on the deck, and travelling to regattas, will last a lifetime. Regular social events include the Club Championship BBQ held about once a month. These are popular events and generally an easy Sunday evening meal for families going to work and school the next day. The annual Live-In Camp held each January is a must for many kids and is recommended for developing sailing skills and confidence in young sailors. New members are welcome. 2. Timber Optimist 'Ready Steady' Missing main sheet but mainly complete
3. Two spare fibreglass Optimist hulls that could make good tenders

Optimist 'Home Brew' $400.00
Beautifully built timber Optimist in good overall condition complete with top and bottom covers, one sail and buoyancy bags in good condition, ready to sail.

Optimist 'Ready Steady' $250.00
Timber Optimist in good overall condition, main sheet missing but otherwise complete with two sails in fair condition and buoyancy bags in good condition.

Optimist Spare Hulls $50.00 (Each Hull)
Fibreglass Optimist hulls with hiking straps and buoyancy bag straps in fair condition.
Would make a good yacht tender with rowlocks installed.

Yesterday was a perfect day on the water at NSC! ☀️⛵

With ideal sailing conditions, the club was buzzing with all kinds of activities:

🏆 Willoughby Shield: great racing in perfect conditions.

🌊 Junior LTS: our youngest sailors got out on the water and had a ball.

⛵ Optis & F11s training and coaching: plenty of skills being built, and plenty of smiles.

🤝 Adults coaching and open social racing: continuing adults coaching and relaxed (?) friendly racing for everyone.

Thanks to all our coaches, volunteers, and club members who made the day happen. Days like this are what NSC is all about!

NSC at the MG14 East Coast Regatta

Alex and Monty took Otto to the MG14 East Coast Regatta over the October long weekend, finishing second overall.

Racing on Queens Lake near Laurieton, they sailed a consistent series against a strong fleet from NSW and Queensland. A moderate breeze and flat water made for some great downwind sailing, and the new boat performed faultlessly.

A strong result and a clear step forward from last year’s regatta.

The club deck replacement is underway! Our volunteers made great progress on the first day, pulling up planks from the old deck and moving them to the top of the stairs. Thanks to everyone who came along to lend a hand!

With limited deck space during the work, afternoon racing may be affected over the next two Sundays. Junior sailing and CATS are on as usual. For everyone’s safety, please keep clear of the work area and the stacked planks.

And that’s a wrap on Family Learn to Sail for 2026! It was great to welcome several families trying sailing for the first time, and to see everyone’s confidence and skills grow over the four days.

A big thank you to all the instructors and club members who helped make it happen. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back this Sunday for Junior Learn to Sail, and welcoming adults to the first CATS session of the season!

Northbridge Sailing Club isn’t just about sailing — it’s about community.

NSC is powered by volunteers who run everything - from the Sailors’ Table (aka canteen) to caring for our deck, wharf, pontoon, clubhouse, and other facilities.

These spaces are not just club facilities. The deck and pontoon are a resource for the wider community and are open to the public outside scheduled race times.

Our member volunteers keep this space safe, accessible and welcoming for everyone 🫶
