Stepping into a first job is an exciting milestone, but it can also quickly become overwhelming for young people. Whether it is choosing between an employer’s default super fund or deciding whether to claim the tax-free threshold on a Tax File Number (TFN) declaration, getting the setup right from day one ensures they are paid correctly and understand their workplace rights.
Hosted by the City of Vincent and supported by the Department of Communities, this interactive session is designed for young people aged 15–25 to help them take ownership of their working lives.
What We Will Cover:
➡Applying for and organising a Tax File Number (TFN)
➡Choosing a superannuation fund
➡Reading payslips and understanding PAYG/ wage deductions
➡Navigating baseline workplace rights
