🏀 SHE SHOOTS! - WHAT A NIGHT!

Our women’s She Shoots! session was such a fun night.

We had a mix of skills, plenty of laughs, and two games running with high rotations so everyone got lots of court time (and rest 😅).

The best part? We’ve had an excellent response to our new Open Social Competition, with a great group already signed up.

We’re now looking to fill the final few places for the comp.

It’s social, beginner-friendly and designed for those who want to get on court, have some fun and play basketball without taking it too seriously.

🏀 JUNIOR GRADING — NEXT TUESDAY, 5:30PM

Grading helps us place players into the most appropriate teams and levels for the upcoming season, so games are as balanced, enjoyable and competitive as possible.

Who needs to attend?
All registered junior players should attend unless you’ve been advised otherwise. That’s 2012 - 2018 born.

Players born in 2019 and 2020 do NOT need to attend, as we have two set teams dedicated to this age group.

What to expect:
Our graders will include Paul Allen (North East Bushrangers coach) and committee members Tim Burton, James Bodycoat and Mel Rofe, with volunteer coaches helping run the session.

Players will take part in simple drills and short games so we can get a feel for their experience, skills, confidence and where they’ll be best placed.

There’s nothing to “pass” — it’s simply about finding the best fit for each player. 🙌

Please bring a drink bottle, wear sports clothes and runners, and bring your own basketball if you have one.

Registrations still open for Senior / Opens - A Grade and Social - filling very fast and will close by end of today so we can finalise numbers.

FAQs:

When are the games? Tuesday afternoons from 5.10pm (4 time slots)

Who can play? We aim to offer 5 comps, to allow anyone to play regardless of experience and dependant on registrations: Under 8s (2020 born and younger), 2 x grades for Juniors, Senior/Open A Grade and Social comp (focusing on women who haven’t played before - see registration link in comments)

Do I need to buy a uniform? No! Euroa Basketball lends uniforms out to players.

How much does it cost? $80-$85 dependant on comp, basketball Victoria fees are on top of this which goes directly to them.

How long is the season? We are running a Term 4 only comp. Starts October 6th, 9 weeks + GF week.

Can I pick what team I’m in? For juniors, no you will be assigned a team based on age and experience. For seniors, yes we encourage teams to be formed and can also help you find a team if you need help.

Are registrations really going to close? Yes! We’ve had strong demand from our community and we will be limiting teams to fit within our time slots and ref availability.

Can I help volunteer? Yes! We will be seeking coaches, team managers, scorers. We will coordinate this after grading.

When will junior grading be? At this stage, September 13th and 15th. More details to follow.

🏀 TERM 4 BASKETBALL - REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN! 🏀

Tuesday night basketball is back at Euroa Secondary College for Term 4 - and we’re excited about what we’re aiming to offer this season!

Everyone in the Strathbogie region or neighbouring towns are welcome!

🏀 A separate seniors men’s competition

🏀 Week 3 of Winter Warmup!

Our Junior Jumpers are in full flight, building confidence and learning the fundamentals of basketball — and having plenty of fun along the way!

Our Winter Warmup crew are building on their skills each week, working on movement around the court and our core basketball “vitamins” — passing, shooting and dribbling.

This week we’ve also introduced new activities focused on spacing — learning how to move without the ball, find space and work together as a team.

Lots of learning, lots of energy and some great basketball being played! 🏀🙌
