The Mitcham Football Netball Club is dedicated to developing well-rounded young Australians through a football environment which teaches respect, humility, integrity, and reward through effort and fair play at all times Established in 1888 The Mitcham Football Club is known as the Mitcham Tigers and proudly wears the Black jumper with yellow sash (similar to Richmond) and sings the famous, if not the best theme song of all time ''Oh where from tiger land yellow and black''. Located out of Walker Park - arguably the premier ground in the league, the club fields Senior, Reserve and under 19 teams together with 16 junior teams ( Boys and Girls ) in the Premier Melbourne Metropolitan Competition – The Eastern Football league. Committed to upholding the Club’s proud traditions and pursuing excellence, both on the field and within the wider community, The Mitcham Football Club is an accredited Level Two Good Sports Program member and is dedicated to developing well rounded young Australians through a football environment, which teaches respect, humility, integrity, reward through effort and fair play at all times.

Goodbye Kiwi 🥝

The Mitcham Football Club would like to thank Lachie McBride for his outstanding contribution to our club, as Kiwi prepares to return home to New Zealand tomorrow night.

Lachie made the huge decision to move across to Melbourne to challenge himself and compete at a higher level. Over the past two seasons, the development we have seen in him has been tremendous, and we have loved watching him grow as a footballer.

Footy aside, Kiwi fitted into our club seamlessly. The friendships and connections he has made in such a short time are a testament to the person he is, and we have no doubt he will carry lifelong friendships with him long after leaving Mitcham.

We wish Lachie all the very best as he returns home to continue his football journey with the Christchurch Bulldogs. We’ll be keeping a keen eye on his progress and look forward to following his career from afar.

No doubt we’ll see the Flying Kiwi back around the club in the future, but for now, it’s goodbye, thank you and good luck.

🐯🖤💛 GOOD LUCK TO 3 FORMER TIGERS TODAY 💛🖤🐯

Today, we’re cheering on 3 former Mitcham Tigers as they take the field in the OUTER EAST 'Community Bank' Football & Netball Grand Final for The Mount Evelyn Football Netball Club! 🏆

Will Gordon - Our 2019 Premiership ruckman, was absolutely huge for the Tigers in our 2019 flag-winning season. Will took home the Blue Ribbon Medal for best on ground in the grand final and was also crowned Club Champion, playing a massive role in one of the great grand final victories in Mitcham history. 💪🐯

And then there’s Tom Burkitt, who as a young Tiger was pivotal throughout that 2019 campaign. Tom was tracking towards a near Best on Ground performance in the semi-final, before cruelly breaking his leg. His contribution to that premiership year will never be forgotten. 🖤💛

Let’s also not forget Matt Gordon, who at 40 years young runs around in the reserves grand final.. Matt was also huge for us back in the 2019 premiership, playing as a key forward / back up ruckman to Will. The Gordon boys were a major part of our BIG Man department and have earned there place in Mitcham history. 🖤💛

We absolutely love seeing our former Tigers going on to achieve great things, and nothing would warm our hearts more than seeing Mount Evelyn cause a couple of boilovers today! 🔥🏆

THANK YOU, HORSE

The Mitcham Football Club would like to thank Zac Horsey, who has informed the club that he will be moving on from Mitcham in 2027 as he relocates out of the area and looks to continue his football closer to home.

Horse has been a tremendous player for our footy club, joining us back in the Under 13s and working his way through the ranks to become a Senior Premiership player. A talented, committed and valued member of our club, Zac has made a lasting contribution both on and off the field.

While we’re sad to see him go, we understand his decision and wish him nothing but the very best as he embarks on the next chapter of his football journey.

Whichever club is fortunate enough to secure his services in 2027 will be getting a fantastic player and an even better clubman.

Thanks for everything, Horse! Once a Tiger, always a Tiger. 🐯❤️

🐯🖤💛 WHAT AN EFFORT FROM OUR RESERVES! 💛🖤🐯

It was nearly the comeback win of the season! 😮‍💨🔥

Our Reserves found themselves 35 points down at three-quarter time, but our boys simply refused to give in.

They dug deep, fought for every possession and launched an incredible late charge — running the game right down to the wire and finishing just 3 points short. 💪🐯

It was an enormous effort from a group that has battled away all year, showing the heart, determination and never-say-die attitude that makes us so proud to be Mitcham.

Unfortunately ball in hand and about to go deep into forward 50, the final siren sounded, but the effort, courage and fight shown by our Reserves was something to be incredibly proud of. 👏👏

💛🖤 Well done boys — you never gave up! Congratulations to the Park Orchards Football Netball Club too good on the day and we will see you again next year...

RESERVES COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

The Mitcham Football Club wishes to announce that, several weeks ago, Reserves Coach Graeme Clarke informed the club that he would not be seeking reappointment for the 2027 season.

In his second year at the helm, Graeme and his team guided our Reserves to the Grand Final, where they fell agonisingly short by just three points against an extremely strong Park Orchards outfit.

The club would like to sincerely thank Graeme for his dedication, commitment and efforts over the past two seasons. Coaching Reserves football can be a challenging role at any club, and we greatly appreciate everything Graeme has contributed to our football program.

We wish Graeme and his family all the very best for the future and thank them for their contribution to the Mitcham Football Club.

Further announcements regarding the Reserves coaching role for the 2027 season will be made in the near future.

We are so proud to have Tillie and her family apart of the Mitcham Junior Football Club and in our Senior Women’s program. She is definitely one to watch for the future in Women’s footy. 🐯🟡⚫️
