Since joining the club when her daughter Sidney commenced as a Sub Junior, Leanne has become an invaluable member of our community. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and an unwavering willingness to help wherever needed, often going above and beyond while balancing work and family commitments.

Leanne has undertaken an extensive range of roles, including Secretary, Executive Representative, Management Committee member, Team Manager Coordinator, Family Concert Coordinator, Awards Day Coordinator and Costume Person. She has also contributed countless hours to club events, administration, studio maintenance and working bees. When the club secured its premises, Leanne played a central role in organising and completing the studio fit-out, and she continues to take great pride in maintaining our facilities.

Her contribution extends beyond Applecross, having represented the club and supported Calisthenics WA as State Team Manager in 2023 and 2024, assisted with the State Development Team, and attended CAWA School Holiday Workshops. She has also helped build relationships with other clubs, supported community exhibitions such as the Canning Show, and welcomed new families into our sport.

What truly distinguishes Leanne is her generosity, reliability and willingness to undertake any task, no matter how big or small. Much of her work happens behind the scenes, yet it is fundamental to the smooth running of our club. She consistently demonstrates the dedication, commitment, teamwork and community spirit that reflect the values of Applecross Calisthenics Club.

✨ 2026 CADET COACH AWARD - Mathilda ✨

Mathilda is such a warm and friendly presence at every training. From the moment she enters the room, she sets the tone for the class and makes a point of greeting every coach. She hits the ground running without ever needing instruction, whether that's helping with kiss and drop, bringing the team together for a game, or setting up the class reward system. She is always one step ahead.

Her ability to anticipate what's needed is something her coaches have come to rely on. Time and time again, Mathilda would already be working with a team member on their movements, offering tips, or helping them remember the corrections given. She sees what needs to be fixed and she simply gets on with it.

Mathilda's reliability extends well beyond the class. On the rare occasion she couldn't make it, she had already organised her own replacement, well in advance, before she even let her coaches know. She is always open to feedback and genuinely eager to improve, which speaks to her maturity and her future as a coach. The team absolutely adore her. Mathilda is a true asset to have at class, and without question, a coach of the future.

Congratulations Mathilda, and thank you for your dedication and commitment to Applecross! ♥️
