2026 SC State Age Championships! wow this was certainly a meet to remember. Our Marion athletes swam their hearts out and in the process broke multiple records, won development awards and the club took home the overall points trophies for most points in both individual and relay events. An INCREDIBLE close to the 2026 short course season.
Thank you to Swimming SA for another brilliant championship event, to SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre for hosting, to our coaching team who were on deck around the clock supporting and guiding our swimmers, the club committee and families for officiating and most of all to our swimmers. You should be all so proud of the hard work, positive attitude and team spirit that you showed this weekend. GO MARION!!!! β€οΈπ

This week, a group of four of our talented swimmers coached by Joel Barrentes (and Jasmine Vidgeon - not pictured) - Allegra Crean, Emily Daunt, Saoirse Hanniffy and Jess Osborn - have been selected to take part in the 2026 LA Dreaming Camp. This camp is a joint high performance training camp between Swimming SA and Swimming QLD, and is being held in Adelaide this year for talented young swimmers. 10 swimmers from SA have been invited, along with 23 Queensland athletes.
This camp forms part of the performance pathway building toward the LA 2028 Olympic Games and includes intensive pool training, educational sessions, and personal development workshops.
Over this week, athletes and coaches from both states will train side by side, supported by a team of managers, sport science and physiotherapy staff. Theyβll share knowledge, build new friendships and push each other to be better.
The squad will finish the week competing at the 2026 SA Short Course Championships. Well done girls we are really proud of all the hard work and dedication that has seen you get a place at this camp and we can't wait to hear how it all goes and watch you swim at states this weekend as well β€οΈπ

Swimmer shout out! Tomorrow Jordan Tucker will be competing in round one of the Australian Open water cup in Darwin. This is a national, multi-leg open water swimming series designed by Swimming Australia to develop elite athletes, strengthen club engagement, and elevate Australiaβs global presence in open water sport.
Jordan has been an open water swimmer for over 5 years and has made nationals each year and coming 4th 3 years in a row. He has always been SA state champion for OW and made the SA Flippers pathway by achieving his strong results at Nationals.
Last year Jordan worked extremely hard to try and make the junior AUS worlds team. He came very close only missing the team by two places but it was 16-17 so he was in bottom part of the age category.
This year Jordan will travel around Australia doing each leg of the Australian OW cup and to gain valuable experience in each race. He will compete in 5km and 7.5km in most events and try his luck at a 10k race this season.
Good luck in your first OW event this season, beginning tomorrow morning! We are all behind you and cheering you on at Marion and can't wait to see how you go (enjoy the 32Β° temps.... a bit warmer than at home!)
