๐One sleep to go until OLAC Presentation Day! We will celebrate the achievements of our wonderful athletes throughout this season tomorrow!
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, guardians, and families of the athletes for helping us make this season run smoothly and efficiently, we canโt run the weekly competitions without volunteers. We appreciate you and thank you!
As a special treat for all our little athletes, jumping castle from 10.30am (weather permitting) will be setup on the oval. Parents/guardians please stay/supervise your children when they are in the jumping castle.
Free sausages (incl vegetarian options)๐ญ and icy poles ๐งfor all on the day. The Canteen will be open with a reduced menu as we finish the season. Easter raffle will be drawn after presentation. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day, 1 for $2, 3 for $5 or 7 for $10. We will still accept any donations on the day, and we again thank you for your generosity.

Reminder, this Saturday 28th March is OLAC Presentation Day.
There will be a jumping castle ๐ฐ (weather permitting) from 11am. Awards presentation will start approx. 11.30am. Sausages and icy poles for everyone! There will be vegetarian sausages available as well ๐ญ

โญOLAC December Stats โญ
Better late than never, we are catching up with our monthly stats and December was up next.
It was a short month of athletics in December with Xmas party and a short meet on the first week, followed by State Relay Championships.
Well done to the winners of Xmas parent/family races (photos attached), and thank you to all that participated! ๐๐๐
Massive congratulations to the teams who competed at State Relays, it is a great achievement to make it there and well done to the athletes in teams that placed in the top 8! We are very proud of all of you, and thank you for being part of OLAC teams!
Special mention to the U15 awesome foursome, Fraser, Christian, Xavier and Cooper for being great examples to rest of the club. Not forgetting the other awesome team placed in top 8, Masaki, Alex, Teddy & Lior, well done! Special thanks to Charlie who stepped up last minute and ran with U15 team ๐๐

๐Week 20 - Saturday 21st March - OLAC Multi Event Comp๐
We are finishing the season with our Annual Multi Event Competition. The usual 5 events will be held across all age groups, points will be calculated for these events. Athletes must compete in all 5 events to complete the Multi Event competition and be eligible for a medal. Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing at the Presentation Day on Saturday 28th March.
๐Warm up at 8.45am SHARP ; first event will start 9.00am
Housekeeping for this week:
๐Setup from 7.30am, parents from U12 and U6-U8 on duty this week
๐Parents and guardians, please assign yourself to duties including Team Manager Role listed on Team App. Please note Team Managers will look a little different this week, TM meeting with Nick during warm up
๐Please pack up as much as possible
Important things to note:
โ๏ธAll parents must remain on site with their athlete at all times. Our competitions are not a drop off event
โ๏ธPlease look before crossing the track at all times. We do not want any injury to anyone
โ๏ธPlease ensure everyone are in the designated area and not wandering to the track, as there may be a race taking place but not visible to you

This weekend is our Annual Relaython, a fundraiser to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Parents and guardians, please don't forget to come with runners on to run some laps for a good cause!
Alongside this fundraiser, Lexie will hold Teddy Bear Picnic for athletes from U6 to U8 age groups. Fruits and cordial will be provided on the day.

This Saturday 14th March, OLAC will hold the annual Relaython and also Crazy Hair / Socks Day fundraiser to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
A Relaython is where a relay baton is carried around the inside lane for a period of time. Distances between changeover of the baton vary and theory is to cover as much territory as you can within allocated period. Athletes can get sponsors to pledge certain amount of money per lap/distance ran by them and they donate the money at the end of the Relaython. OLAC will donate per lap to the GFA.
We will also have RCH tin going around for donations. Gold coin donation for Crazy Hair / Socks Day entries!! Cool prizes to be won. All proceeds from canteen on the day will also go to GFA! ๐๐

What an amazing weekend for our Oakleigh athletes at the 2026 State Track & Field Championships! ๐๐
We had 16 athletes representing Oakleigh on the weekend, qualifying to State is an incredible achievement, these athletes showed commitment, perseverance and great sportsmanship over the weekend ๐๐๐๐
Across 34 events participated, our athletes achieved one of Oakleighโs best State results:

๐ฅ3 Bronze Medals

7 Top 8 Finishes (4thโ8th place)
Whether standing on the podium, achieving a PB, or giving their all in every event, each athlete should be extremely proud of their efforts ๐๐๐๐
A huge thank you to our amazing parents and parents who had duties on the weekend, thank you for your support and making the weekend run smoothly. Thank you to Lexie for your role as Team Manager and coaching the athletes all weekend and thank you to Panny & Santhini for helping setup Oakleigh area on Friday night, and packing up.
And finally, massive thank you to Knox Little Athletics Centre Inc. for hosting this yearโs championships and to the incredible volunteers from Little Athletics Victoria who helped ensure the event ran smoothly.
