Attention all people using the Reynella Community Centre facilities. Yesterday, 5th of July, a member of the public reported to the club of a number of people speeding in the community centre area. Please slow down, this is a problem that has been ongoing for years. If a small child were to run out between a couple of cars, your life and several others could change forever. The speed limit is 10kph, so please SLOW down. Police have been advised and will hopefully monitor the situation.
THE GREAT BOWLS DEBATE... AND WHY IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER!
Henselite, Aero,Taylor,Drakes Pride
At Henselite, we celebrate lawn bowls and the people who play it.
One thing we've learned over the years is that bowlers choose their brand for many different reasons.
Some choose based on service and support, some because of the colours available, some because their parents or mentors played a particular brand, and others simply because a certain bowl feels right in their hand.
It's a bit like choosing a vehicle. Some people love BMW, others prefer Mercedes-Benz. Both will get you where you want to go – it comes down to personal preference.
The same applies to bowls.
Whether you play with Henselite, Aero, Drakes Pride or Taylor, you're part of the bowls family. We have many good friends who use all of these brands and have achieved incredible success with them.
A little bit of history:
• Taylor Bowls (Scotland) – Founded in the early 1800s and regarded as one of the oldest bowls manufacturers in the world.
• Drakes Pride (England) – Heritage dating back to 1820, with a long and respected history in the sport.
• Henselite (Australia) – Founded in 1918 and credited with producing the world's first successful composition bowl in 1930, helping revolutionise the game.
• Aero Bowls (Australia) – A modern manufacturer known for innovative core technology and precision engineering.
Every brand has contributed something to the sport we love.
An interesting fact: while no official worldwide figures exist, Henselite is generally regarded as the largest and most widely used lawn bowls brand globally, with the Tiger Pro, Tiger II and Dreamline ranges among the most commonly seen bowls on greens around the world.
At the end of the day, the best bowl is the one that gives you confidence when you stand on the mat.
So tell us:
What brand do you play with, why did you choose it, and would you ever change?
Let's keep the conversation friendly, respectful and celebrate the diversity that makes our sport so special.
Be Your Best.

Dear members,
Our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Saturday 9th May at 11.00am is an important event in the life of our club, and we strongly encourage all members to attend.
The AGM provides an opportunity for members to hear updates on the club's activities and financial position, contribute ideas, ask questions, and have a say in the direction of the club for the coming year. It is also the time when key decisions are made and committee positions are confirmed, making your participation both valuable and meaningful.
Your attendance helps ensure the club remains transparent and guided by the interests of our members.
A strong turnout demonstrates support for our club and those who volunteer their time to keep it running smoothly.
We look forward to seeing as many members as possible at the meeting and appreciate your continued support and involvement.
Please find attached the list of nominations received for committee positions to be considered at the upcoming AGM.
We thank those members who have nominated for their willingness to contribute their time and effort to the continued success of our club.
Kind Regards
Annette Borg

Few snaps from the police games at Marion today. It looks like Marion Bowling Club has plenty of room for the force to move in, with five greens. Well done, what a great event to host.
Why play lawn bowls?
It starts with a roll… and turns into belonging
You don’t need experience.
You don’t need the “right” gear.
You can borrow bowls at the club
You don’t need to be a certain age, ability, background, or skill level.
You just need to show up.
Because lawn bowls isn’t just about what happens on the green , it’s about what happens around it.
🤝 A place where everyone is welcome
Whether you’re new to the area, looking to meet people, getting back into sport, or just chasing something different, there’s a spot for you.
Clubs are built on people, not perfection.
And from your very first visit, you’re not an outsider, you’re part of it.
🟢 All abilities. All walks of life. One green
Lawn bowls is one of the few sports where everyone can genuinely play together.
Young or old. Competitive or social.
First-timer or lifelong player.
It’s a great game for juniors as no one is left on the sidelines.
There’s no “you don’t belong here” only “grab a bowl and join in.”
🌱 A safe, supportive environment to learn
Everyone remembers their first game, the nerves, the awkward deliveries, the bowls that go… anywhere but where you aimed 😅
That’s why clubs look after new players:
* People will help, not judge
* You’ll be guided, not overwhelmed
* Progress comes at your pace
And every small win gets celebrated
😂 It’s as much about laughter as it is about skill
Some of the best moments in bowls aren’t the perfect shots…they’re the unexpected ones.
The banter, the shared laughs, the “did that really just happen?” moments…
That’s what keeps people coming back.
🧠 Good for your mind, body, and routine
Getting outside, moving, focusing, connecting..
bowls ticks all the boxes.
It gives you:
* A reason to get out of the house
* A way to switch off from stress
* A healthy mix of activity and relaxation
* A way to socialise
🍻 Community doesn’t end at the last end
The game finishes… but the conversations don’t.
Stay for a drink, a chat, a laugh.
This is where friendships are built and stories are shared.
💚 It grows with you
You can keep it social, or you can get competitive.
You can play once a week or dive right in.
Check out local bowls clubs near you. Go on a social day or night, feel the vibe and see how you go!

See if you can get along and support the police championship. They have a bowls shop there.
