These are the hills I’m prepared to die on…⁣

I have started on a Monday more times than I can possibly count….⁣

I bought off the strict grocery list. Told myself THIS is the week I finally do it. I’d make it to Wednesday, have a bad day, give into the chocolate, and thought right, that’s ruined then…f**k it, may as well make it a bad week then…. I’ll go again Monday.⁣

Years and years and years of rinse and repeat….stuck in this vicious cycle. ⁣

The whole time I thought the problem was me.⁣

I’ve finally realised it wasn’t. It was that every plan I picked was one I could never actually keep doing long term. 75 Hard, keto, no carbs after 6. They all work while you’re on them….⁣

But they aren’t designed to last forever. So I did the temporary thing and got the temporary result. Every single bloody time.⁣

What changed wasn’t that I got more disciplined, honestly I’m not. It’s that I stopped throwing the whole week out over one bad day, and found a BALANCE. ⁣

Which slide made you go oh... that’s me 👇

So, you know I promised to always keep it real with you, so in a nutshell, last week was an absolute s**t show hahahahaha ⁣

I started off the week so determined to smash it, get higher steps…then I got hit HARDDDDD Wednesday and got sick…the sickest I’ve been in many many years! I am assuming it must have been something like Influenza A… ⁣THIS is what I get for drinking for the first time in over 4 years! 🤪🔫

Honestly, parenting while sick is TORTURE! It was a very tough week. Unfortunately Aaron was at a 2 day conference and couldn’t take time off until Friday so my goal was purely SURVIVAL last week!!⁣

Of course, I went down…then Aaron…and both kids. ⁣

I still loosely tracked, did I think about what I was eating? Nope, not for a second. I was more focused on getting through every day. ⁣

Some weeks are like this and that is OKAY. I didn’t ruin my progress, I don’t need to ‘start again’. These weeks are inevitable and like I always preach, it is about consistency not perfection! ⁣

On a positive note, you can see my bodyweight come down after drinking last weekend within a few days. (Before I got sick too, so wasn’t because of the lower cals) ⁣

I am currently feeling a lot better, but still pretty tired and not 100%. I won’t attempt to get back to the gym until possibly the weekend/end of the week. (As much as my mind wants to!!) ⁣

I am back into aiming for my protein/calories today. I won’t be hitting steps/training yet but instead of spiralling about what I can’t do, I’ll focus on what I can! ⁣

Every week I hope my check-in teaches you something, so this week I hope this is a good reminder that sometimes s**t hits the fan and theres not much you can do but ride the wave, do the best you can and not beat yourself up about it!! Life happens! Back to it today!

OMG I’ve put on 2.4kg overnight. I need to slash calories, punish myself with more cardio and beat myself up…

Is how I would have responded once upon a time.

But let’s break down what actually happened!

So, yes, the scales spiked up 2.4kgs overnight…because I went out drinking and enjoying food for my besties hens day/night. I didn’t track, LIFE is meant to be enjoyed, especially a huge event like your bestie getting married. I also haven’t drank in over 4 years….!!!

My weight spiked because of the extra food, the extra carbs, carbs also cause water retention. It is NOT actually possible to put on 2.4kgs overnight. I’ll track my weight this week and you will see it come down over the next few days.

All this means is that I would have maintained last week. I don’t need to slash calories or beat myself up. One day/night out doesn’t undo months and months of consistency.

It was a tough week to squeeze training in too, I only got 1 session in… which NEVER happens. My mum/MIL/FIL are all overseas so I am down quite a few babysitters! Then my car also needed to go into get the aircon repaired so I was also down a car for a few days…then of course I was away all weekend so bit of a s**t show with training this week. But AGAIN, that is OK, this weeks happen!

One off meal, one off day, one lower training week doesn’t define your progress..and as I promised, I am checking in with you every week to share my progress - the good, the bad the ugly as they say BAHHAA but also to share that weight loss after having kids takes longer and that is OK!

So, goals this week is just to get back to business! No changes, just get back on track!

Any questions, drop them below as always!

This weekend was my besties hens (I am Maid of Honour) so this weekend was something we have been excited for MONTHS for.⁣

On Saturday, I enjoyed the food at high tea with cocktails, we then had some entertainment HAHA 😜 at the hotel where we enjoyed more drinks and nibbles…then we went to a club for a particular show…and yes you guessed it more drinks and food, then out for a 10pm dinner! ⁣

So, what did I do to make sure I stayed on track?⁣

I enjoyed the food, I enjoyed the drinks. I didn’t track. ⁣

THAT IS IT. ⁣

I didn’t spiral or feel guilt or miss out on anything. How often do I go to my besties Bachelorette party? Hopefully only once hahaha. ⁣

So, I enjoyed the event, then got back on track today. ⁣

One day doesn’t ruin MONTHS of consistency. LIFE is meant to be enjoyed. I am NOT missing out on big events because I am worried about food. (Not anymore anyway)⁣

The ‘worst’ that will happen this week? I’ll maintain. That’s it. ⁣

So I ate the food, I had the drinks, I was fully there for her, and on Monday I will train like I always do and continue as usual!⁣

“How have I put on a kilo OVERNIGHT?!”⁣

You haven’t, lovely. I promise you.⁣

The scale fluctuates which is SO damn normal!!! That is literally what it does… up, down, up, down. (Just have a look at mine!) ⁣

PSA: The problem IS NOT the number. It’s what you do next….. ⁣

Watch this before you slash your calories off the back of ONE weigh in.⁣

If you’re panicking every single time you step on those scales… send me a message. Let’s chat about coaching, because talking you off that ledge is literally my job description. 😜

The biggest mistake I see mums make postpartum is building a plan that only works if they’re perfect.

Perfect sleep. Perfect week. Nothing going wrong. (LOL, does that EVER happen?!)

Then life does what life does, it all falls apart, and you’re back to starting again on Monday. Again, and again, and again….and every time you do, that voice gets a bit louder telling you that you’re just someone who can’t stick to anything.

PSA: You can stick to things. You’ve just been handed a plan that was built to fail before you started.

PSST….You shouldn’t have to work that out on your own. The mums who actually get somewhere aren’t the ones with more willpower, they’re the ones with someone in their corner telling them what to do when the week goes sideways, instead of quietly deciding they’ve stuffed it and waiting for Monday to start again.

That’s what I do for my mums. Comment COACHING and let’s have a chat about what that could look like for you 🤍

Just checking in 👀⁣

Tell me which slide got you. I’m guessing slide 1 for most of you 🙃⁣

Here’s the thing… none of this makes you lazy or broken. It makes you a mum who has been sold bulls**t for years and never actually shown what works.⁣

Tell me, which slide hit home for you the most? 👀

POV: You’ve been told tacos are “off limits”... and then you learn how to flexible diet…. 🌮⁣

VIRAL TACO CUPS and no, I have not “healthified” them. There’s still cheese, guacamole, sour cream…it’s just tacos, portioned in a way that actually fits my day.⁣

573 cals. 36.6g protein. About 25 minutes start to finish 🙌⁣

This is what flexible eating actually looks like. Not swapping the tortilla for lettuce. Not eating the sad version while everyone else eats the real thing. Just knowing your numbers and building your meals around food you genuinely WANT to eat.⁣

My kids demolished these. Aaron went back for more. Nobody knew they were “tracked” because they weren’t typical “diet” food. It was just dinner. ⁣

Full recipe is on slide 3. SAVE this one so you’ve got it for next week 📌⁣

Also, tag the mama who thinks tacos are off the table. They’re not. 😜

Come with me as I eat a burger while losing weight 👀 ⁣

Watch to the end for a code for a freebie 😜
