What a MONSTER of a morning at our Kidz BJJ gradings.

A massive amount of tiny humans sweating it out, getting some fresh new stripes, and….. FIVE new Grey Belts, and FIVE new Yellow Belts!!!

Thanks to all the parents for their support, and to all the assistant coaches that helped make the days such a success.

And….. WELL DONE KIDS!!!

You all worked super hard and made us all proud.

Onto the next!!!

On the weekend Helen Reber and I did a Women’s Awareness and Self Defence session at Fitstop Jindalee for its female members.

We ran through some very simple tricks and tips to being more aware of your surroundings, making yourself less of a target, and some simple techniques to give you the ultimate goal when it comes to self defence.

The BJMA National Muay Thai training weekend is an annual opportunity for coaches and students from across Australia to share knowledge, reconnect, and share ideas across the whole scope of Muay Thai.

There is so much more to this weekend than just pad work and sparring. The coaching team ranges from coaches that have been coaching for decades, to pro fighters that are now sharing all of their knowledge and experience in a coaching space.

Topics such as cornering skills, hand wrapping, Mongkon making, mobility and stretching techniques, how to perform a Ram Muay, and fight psychology all offset the natural physical element of Muay Thai.

It was a fantastic weekend, and we were so proud to be a part of it.

Thanks so much to all involved and all that made it a fantastic weekend.

As I always say, there is only so much knowledge in the four walls of your club. If you really want to make you and all around you better, you have to travel, and bring that knowledge back.

Can't wait to share it with you all in classes!!!
