LACHIE COX REAPPOINTED AS FIRST XI CAPTAIN

Parkdale Cricket Club is delighted to announce the reappointment of Lachie Cox as First XI Captain for the 2026/27 season.

After leading the Two Blues through a strong season last year, Lachie will take the reins for his second season as captain, with plenty of unfinished business ahead.

Lachie has shown great leadership both on and off the field and, with a strong core group returning, we’re excited to see what he and the team can achieve this season.

Lachie said:

“Absolutely pumped to be back leading the club this year. Really excited to be taking a similar core group of players through after a successful season last year. We will be looking to go one better and push us back into Div 1 next season.”

There’s a clear goal for 2026/27 — go one better and get the Two Blues back into Division 1.

Congratulations Lachie. We’re looking forward to seeing you lead the boys again this season! 💙🏏

DAVID NANKERVIS REAPPOINTED AS HEAD COACH

Parkdale Cricket Club is delighted to announce the reappointment of David Nankervis as Head Coach of our Men’s Teams for the 2026/27 season.

This will be David’s third consecutive season in the role in his current stint, having also previously coached the club for two seasons.

David brings a wealth of cricket experience to the Two Blues, both on and off the field, but just as importantly, he has a genuine passion for our club and a strong desire to see Parkdale CC continue to develop and succeed.

As President, I’m extremely pleased to have David back at the helm for another season. His knowledge, leadership and commitment to developing our players and building a strong club culture make him a great fit for where we want to take Parkdale.

David said:

“I’m really proud to be reappointed as Head Coach of the Parkdale Cricket Club Men’s Teams for another year. I’m excited to build on what we’ve achieved, keep developing our players and, most importantly, create a strong team culture that everyone at Parkdale can be proud of. I can’t wait to get stuck into another season.”

Vale Mark Curtis

Parkdale Cricket Club is saddened to hear of the passing of Mark Curtis last week.

Mark played both Juniors and Seniors with Parkdale Cricket Club.

Mark was 1st XI player 454 and also an integral part of our 2nd XI premiership in 2005/6. He was a dashing left handed top order bat with an addiction to try and pull any ball for six.

He was a much loved past player.

Sincere condolences to Marks family and friends.

Parkdale Cricket Club is pleased to announce the re-signing of Sam Swingwood. Sam had a great season for the Two Blues in 2025/26 and returns to Gerry Green, keen to contribute to club success.

Sam was a great contributor to the club, both on and off the field last season. and we're looking forward to seeing him again at Parkdale CC.

Parkdale Cricket Club Pre season training gathers pace - now confirmed for junior boys & SECA mixed players.

Commencing Monday 3rd August at a new venue for us - Moorabbin Indoor Sports, Cochranes Road.

We understand that some will be fully focused on winter sports but if your child can make it along to brush off the cobwebs we will have members of our junior program in attendance to discuss the season ahead.

Note: our girls and women’s indoor training continues on Fridays at Springvale Indoor sports and our Men’s senior preparations kick off at Cricket HQ later in the evening of August 3rd.

As ever all potential new players are welcome to come along!

Parkdale Cricket Club AGM 2026

Thank you to those members that attended the Annual General meeting last night.

It was a really positive meeting - appreciate everyone’s input into the governance and future of our great club.

A couple of comments:
- Special thanks to Treasurer, and Life Member Shane Murray who is stepping down after two years in the role. Appreciate all the work you’ve done for the club.
- The club’s Articles of Association have been updated - mainly modernising what was an old document. We will publish the new version, as voted and approved at the AGM on the website in due course.

Thank you to all who have volunteered their time to keep our great club running, and for PCC to continue to be successful both on and off the field.

We have several roles vacant - it is critical for the sustainable future of the club that we fill these roles. We do not want too few doing too much work, and getting burnt out and quitting.

We are very much trying to the spread the load of everything that needs to be done. If you have some time to help out, then please let one of the committee know, and we will be touch to discuss.

Full training in all roles will be provided.
