Taking place on Saturday of the June Long Weekend, the annual Parkes Picnic Races event is the social highlight of the season! A huge thank you to Parkes Shire Council for their generous grant funding, which helps make our annual Parkes Picnic Races possible. This wonderful community event simply couldn't go ahead without the ongoing support of Council. and the dedication of our hardworking committee.
The horses unfortunately didn't get to race this year due to the wet track, however the event was still a fantastic success. We were thrilled to see so many people come along, enjoy the day, and help create such a wonderful community atmosphere.
We're incredibly grateful for the overwhelming positive feedback received from this year's event. It's a reflection of what can be achieved with a passionate hardworking committee, and great community.

A huge congratulations to Riley Pizzi, winner of the Best Dressed Teenager category in this year's Fashions in the Field at the Parkes Picnic Races! 👏🐎

One of the things we love most about the Parkes Picnic Races is that it's an event for all ages, and it was fantastic to see so many teenagers stepping onto the catwalk, embracing the spirit of race day fashion and getting involved in the competition. Riley stood out from a very stylish field of entrants and was a deserving winner.

A big thank you to Parkes Leagues Club for being the major sponsor of Fashions in the Field, and to our wonderful local businesses Parkes Athletics, Whato's Earthworks, Griffin's Leading Edge, DeJa Brew, Sports Power Parkes and Evermore Floristry for providing the fantastic prizes for our winners.

We're also incredibly grateful to Packed Cones, Regional Business Supplies, McDonald's and Domino's Parkes for generously providing gifts for every entrant who took part in the competition.

🎤 A huge thank you to the one and only Dooley Thomson for being our MC at the 2026 Parkes Picnic Races.

Dooley is a well-known character right across the Central West and a familiar face at many of the region's biggest events and festivals. We were incredibly lucky to have him on board to keep the crowd entertained throughout the day.

While the horses may not have made it to the starting gates this year, Dooley certainly did! In fact, we've had plenty of feedback from attendees saying it was the best Parkes Picnic Races they've been to in years. We have no doubt that Dooley's quick wit, good humour and unforgettable antics played a big part in making the day such a success.

Thank you, Dooley, for supporting the races, bringing the laughs, keeping the energy high and helping us create a memorable day for everyone who attended.

Therese looked absolutely stunning and truly stole the show, impressing both the judges and the crowd with her elegance, style and race day flair. With so many beautifully dressed ladies competing, the standard was incredibly high.

A huge congratulations to Luke and thank you to all of the local gentlemen who entered. The standard was exceptionally high, with plenty of dapper outfits on display throughout the day.

A special thank you to our Fashions in the Field judges, Lisa and Andrew , who had the difficult task of selecting a winner from such a well-dressed and stylish group of entrants. Their expertise and keen eye for fashion were certainly put to the test!

Congratulations to our Best Dressed Couple winners at the 2026 Parkes Picnic Races, Leonni Whalan and Johnny Foscarini from Yenda 🏆✨

Leonni and Johnny impressed the judges with their coordinated race day style, attention to detail and impeccable presentation, taking out one of the most hotly contested categories of the day.
