Matt joins MUBC following an outstanding tenure as Head Coach of the Hume City Championship Men, where he established a consistently successful program. 🏆 Under his leadership, Hume City finished in the top four every season and reached the Grand Final on three occasions. 🔥

That remarkable level of success has established Matt as one of the leading coaches in Big V, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to MUBC. 💙

We look forward to seeing Matt build on the foundations of our Championship Men’s program as we enter an exciting new chapter. 🚀

Big V Championship Men’s Head Coach – 2027

MUBC is seeking applications for the Head Coach of our Big V Championship Men’s program for the 2027 season.

After earning promotion to Championship in 2023 and recording winning seasons in each of the past four years, including a 3rd place finish in 2026, we’re looking for a candidate ready to build on the club’s recent success at the senior men’s level.

At MUBC, our senior coaches are empowered with the autonomy to lead their program, while we provide the support needed to succeed. We’re looking for an ambitious coach with a genuine desire to compete for championships and drive our Championship Men’s program into its next phase.

After two seasons leading our Championship Men, Joshua Turton has decided to step away from his role with MUBC at the end of the 2026 season.

Josh leaves a significant mark on our program. Across 2025 and 2026, he helped take our Championship Men to consecutive finals appearances, a historic finals victory in 2025, and our highest-ever Championship ladder finish in 2026.

Just as importantly, Josh has helped establish a strong platform for the continued growth and success of our senior men’s program. His work was recognised with consecutive league Coach of the Year nominations in 2025 and 2026.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, energy and commitment Josh has given to MUBC over the past two seasons. He has been a valued part of our club, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together.

We’re looking for a passionate, athlete-centred coach who is excited by the opportunity to build a new program, develop young female athletes and help shape the culture of Youth League Women’s basketball at MUBC.

As a university-based club, MUBC offers coaches the opportunity to focus on their representative program, alongside our commitment to ongoing coach education and development.
