Tough result in Round 2 as we went down 3–2 to Inter Parramatta in what was a brilliant game of football. Both sides were locked in for the full 90 minutes, showing great intensity and commitment throughout.

A strong team effort from the boys, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough, with Inter Parramatta finding the winner in the 89th minute from a free kick.

Plenty of positives to take away and areas to keep improving. We’ll keep pushing forward as we hunt for our first win of the season.

🚨 2026 Season Kick-Off 🚨
Round 1 of the 2026 season kicked off this week for Lightning FC, with both our First Grade and O35s teams playing their opening matches!

First Grade Team

The First Grade team had a solid start to the season, taking on St Columbus Football Club in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw. We created some great chances and felt we could have taken all three points, but it’s only the beginning of the season and a strong performance to build on.
Sunil was on fire, scoring both goals — one directly from a corner and the second an 87th-minute equaliser to secure the point.

O35s

Our O35s team faced a tough start to the season, going down 4-1 against OLQP, with several key players missing. Despite the result, we’re confident that once the squad returns to full strength, we’ll hit our stride and start putting wins on the board. It’s a long season ahead.

Registration for the 2026 season is officially open!
Lightning FC competes in the First Grade Division of the Churches League, and we are now on the lookout for players to join our squad for the upcoming season.

We have a great group of lads who are talented, passionate, and hard-working, and we’re looking for players with the same attitude and mindset—players who want to compete at the highest level and push themselves every week.

At Lightning FC, we focus on brotherhood, unity, and giving equal opportunity, all while promoting and enjoying this beautiful game the right way.
We are currently seeking players in all positions, so if you believe you’d be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.
