๐ Today is Wear It Purple Day, a day to recognise the youth of the LGBTQIA+SB community.
This yearโs theme, Colours of Courage, reminds us that bravery isn't always loud. Itโs found in the everyday choices to live proudly, stand beside a friend, and invite others into understanding and acceptance.
At BlueFit, our purpose is Inspiring Community Activity, and that starts with building spaces where absolutely everyone feels safe to participate and play.
Don't forget to show your support for the LGBTQIA+SB community by wearing a touch of purple, and starting conversations about what inclusion and support means to you!

๐ Show Your Colours!
At BlueFit, our purpose is Inspiring Community Activity, and that starts with building spaces where absolutely everyone feels safe to participate and play.
On Friday, 28th August, we are inviting all our amazing staff and members to stand out, roll up their sleeves, and wear purple for Wear It Purple Day!
This yearโs theme, Colours of Courage, reminds us that bravery isn't always loud. Itโs found in the everyday choices to live proudly, stand beside a friend, and invite others into understanding and acceptance.
Whether you are hitting our gyms, pools, stadiums, or courses, throw on a purple shirt, socks, or wristband! Letโs flood our facilities with colour and ensure everyone who walks through our doors knows they truly belong.
๐ Save the date, prep your purple gear, and letโs move and grow together!

๐ WORLD DROWNING PREVENTION DAY 2026 ๐
Drowning is an issue that affects every nation of the world. Globally, more than 300,000 people lose their lives to drowning every year. Drowning predominately impacts children and young people, and in Australia, hundreds of families lose loved ones to drowning every year.
Because drowning predominantly impacts children and young people, At BlueFit we are taking this opportunity to remind families of our supervision policies, which are in place to help keep our community safe in and around the water.
What you need to know:
๐ถ Children aged 0โ5 and all non swimmers: Must be within armโs reach of a parent or guardian at all times. This means the adult must be actively in the water with the child.
๐งโโ๏ธ Children aged 6โ10: Must be closely and actively supervised. Maintain constant visual contact and be ready to enter the water.
โ๏ธ Minimise distractions: Put away mobile phones, avoid lengthy conversations, and stay clear of any distractions that can cause a fatal lapse in attention.
Every small step we individually take can help save lives.
๐ You can also join the global movement to promote water safety by Going Blue! On the 25th of July, we encourage our community to show their support by wearing blue to the pool, whether it is a blue swimsuit, blue swim cap, or simply bringing a blue towel.
