A big thankyou to everyone that came along to our AGM yesterday. Good to see a few new faces.
Our new Executive Committee is as follows....
President: Chris Stredwick
Vice President: Martin Owens
Secretary/Public Officer: Craig Kerr
Treasurer: Emma Lee

Committee Members: Oliver Radford, Jake Lee, Steven Crocker, Adrian Beard.

We would also like to say a sad farewell to Chris Fletcher, who has been President for the last 5 years, and best of luck with things down in the south of the state. You have guided the Club well over that time and supported the us in other capacities since the early days of the club. Your passion for the Park and Dial Range will be missed.

Don’t forget our AGM this Sunday!

We have Lucy from Nomad Cycles Tasmania our guest speaker, drinks and nibbles available and updates on the Penguin MTB Park and Dial Range trails projects.
It also would be great to see some fresh faces, as we would appreciate some new people to join our committee to ensure the future of the club. If you feel that you would like to become involved with the club, would like have some input into the Penguin MTB Park or Dial Range trails future design or simply just interested to see what’s going on. Then join us at the OZ Rock Inn on this Sunday at 4pm.😁

The last social night ride for the season will be an urban loop around Burnie leaving from the Burnie surf club at 6:30pm this Thursday night. There's the odd bit of road riding so you will need a tail light if you have one.

A good article from Flow Mountain Bike highlighting the risk to your local riding areas, if local clubs are not supported.
Burnout with volunteers is a real thing, and you need others in the MTB community to step up before that happens.
Don't wait until it's too late, put you hand up at your local club, they would love the support.

We caught up with MTB clubs from across the country to find out how they manage the workload and keep the proverbial train on its tracks.

We got a perfect day for the Penguin to Cradle Wild Country social ride.

We would appreciate if you could complete the survey below to guide the Penguin to Cradle Wild Country working group on what the community would like to Dial Range, Leven Canyon Reserve and Black Bluff Reserve look like in the future.

A good article from Flow Mountain Bike. It highlights the work that clubs and volunteers do in regard to trails and events.
Without our local clubs we would not have most of the trails that we have in Tassie today, along with races and events.
Club committees do a power of unpaid work, in their own time. Support your local club and put your hand up for a role, no matter how small.

That said, we have our AGM coming up in just over two weeks time, a good time to join our committee, as we have some exciting projects on the way!

Mountain bike clubs advocate for trails, run dig days, put on events, organise junior programs and so much more.

Club committee members are all volunteers with jobs, families and a life outside of the mountain bike club, and when member burnout hits, it can be catastrophic for the riding community.

We caught up with clubs from across the country to find out how they manage the workload and keep the proverbial train on its tracks.

Big shoutout to all the volunteers out there getting it done. Full story at the link in comments 🔗
