Peregian Veteran Golfers Club

Today, we had a visit from "Wally" the greenkeeper. Wally provided our members with his valuable advice on how to correctly fill in divots.

Today we had our Annual Redskins Day. 72 players (in teams of 4) dressed up in outlandish red clothes, played off the Red (Ladies) Tees and competed for 72 bottles of Red Wine.

Today was a 4 Person Ambrose with a difference. Whoever’s drive you took could not play the next shot
68 or 17 teams tried their best with the winners having a net 58.875
Next week is one of the highlight events of the year with “Redskins”. So make sure your name is down to play and start organising your red outfit to try and win Best Dressed.

Today at Peregian Springs Vets Golf it was the Inaugural Guys v Gals challenge. All up 92 golfers started in excellent conditions and were not put off by a few sprinkles halfway through the game. The challenge consisted of 24 Gals and 24 Guys and with the Guys scraping through for a win with 746 to 724. On an individual basis best score of the day was 42 stableford points. A great day was had by all and the Ladies are looking forward to the next challenge to get their hands on the trophy.

59 Vets Golfers hit the course on Monday in their weekly event. After some recent rain the course was still in good conditions and golfers couldn’t blame the conditions for some average scores with only 3 golfers beating their handicap. Today Peregian Vets Golfers hosted Mt Coolum Vets. While it was raining at 8am 92 golfers (including 35 from Mt Coolum)were committed to golf and shortly after their persistence paid off and the sun came out and an enjoyable game was had by all. Best score of the day was 39

Despite some recent wet weather 60 Peregian Veteran Golfers played a 2 person Ambrose last Monday. Despite not getting much (or any) run on the fairways some good scores were submitted and with the winners having to rely on a countback with a winning score of 63.25.
Next Week Peregian Vets look forward to hosting approx 50 Vet Golfers from Mount Coolum
