📣 ROUND 2 - BEARS VS ROOS
A great day out at Pickering Brook Masters Footy and one we always look forward to. The girls were stellar in a tough contest. Our two debutants made their mark from the first bounce one seeming like she’d played with us for years, and the other was almost in every contest on the ground.
The Masters got off to a slow start against the Roo’s but, in true Bears spirit, fought their way back in the second half and pushed it right to the end. Huge thanks to those who doubled up for the Supers.
The Supers came out firing with strong forward pressure, debutant Matt nearly snagging one early, and MAFS making his mark up forward. Despite a growing injury list, the boys dug deep and came away with the chocolates. Speedy recovery Zebba.

We’re gearing up for a huge Sunday at Pickering Brook Masters Footy! Come down and enjoy three great games, and one of our absolute favourite canteens going around.

This weekend, Mandurah Makos played host to a very long awaited Masters season opener; Bears vs Hammond Park

The women’s side lit up the ground early though the sun beat us to it. Not to be outshone, the match got underway quickly, and after two early goals from Rach (one from outside 50m) the energy was electric. Hammond Park brought strong pressure and made sure we played every minute of that game. Four new players took the field, and it felt like they’d been part of the team forever. Usually known for our front-running, we were caught out in the third, but thanks to two new sisters, the chase was on and they ran them down just in time.

After the masters association called off round one due to a bad weather forecast. It’s fair to say the boys were keen and eager to get out there and have a run! Took the boys a while to get going but after the first quarter the bears were back to where they left off at the end of last season doing what we do best playing Bears footy the masters way! The game was played in good spirits right to the end. Big shout out to two masters debutants Dave and Pagey who both slotted straight into the team like they had been with us since day dot! Also a massive thanks to all the masters who doubled up to fill numbers for the supers, much appreciated!

The HPW Bears are proud to announce that OPEN Windows & Doors, led by Chris Cunningham, are once again on board as a valued club sponsor for 2026.

This marks Open Windows & Doors’ second term of sponsorship with the Bears, after proudly supporting the club over the past two years and now extending their commitment for a further three years.
