Today, on the eve of his anniversary, we honoured our hero by unveiling the new “buddy bench” at his school, next to his tree we planted last year. We hope this can be somewhere for his little brother, sister and friends to come and feel close to him and for any child who is lonely to come and sit to find a buddy to have a chat with or play.

Thank you everyone who came along today. Thank you to the Hillcrest community for your continuous support throughout this last 12 months and the 5 previous years. We are so blessed to be surrounded by such a nurturing community.

Big shout out to Jordan Abbot for the most heart wrenching speech. Your mate would be so proud of how you continue to honour him each and every day. You stole the show bud!
