What a great turnout we had for the Demi Remick Tap workshops. Tap teachers from around the state came through to The Dance Workshop to learn and be inspired by this great tapper from NYC.
Demi is performing with Post Modern Jukebox at the Astor as part of their international tour. She quite literally jumped off the plane from London and came straight to our studio and we couldn't be more grateful!
On Sunday 14 June, we did an advanced beginner and intermediate workshop and an advanced masterclass. We took away so much from this rare opportunity.
We hope to continue bringing internationally recognised and admired dance teachers into our space to continue to inspire our beloved Perth dance community.

Introductory Basics Courses for absolute beginners has landed!
Our next round of 6-week Basics Courses begin on the week of 3 August, giving both brand new dancers and experienced movers the chance to hone in on foundations, sharpen technique and connect with the fundamentals that make the longevity of your dance greater! We’re all about building confidence, enhancing your musicality and being the studio where strong dancers are made.

More on dancing after years of hiatus 👇
If you danced for many years as an adolescent but have since been on hiatus for just as many years it can be tricky trying to decide what level dance class to start in. So many factors impact what level you should start dancing.
Firstly, how long have you been on hiatus for? 1 year? Or 10? Have you been injured during this time? What kind of injury? Have you had children? Have you been physically active and engaged in other activities?
All of this will determine whether you start back at basics or come back at an elementary or intermediate level.
If you’ve been on a break for 8 years or more, had an injury and have not been physically active, we highly recommend starting again in a basics course. This really is a safety issue, and just a matter of making sure that you pace yourself and don’t try anything too fast and too soon. You may find that after a couple of weeks you’re already ready to move into the next level up but it’s always best to start where it’s safe.

With over 25 years of experience teaching and performing, Kim has trained with world-class masters, performed across Perth, interstate and even on stage in Cairo and shares her deep passion for traditional Egyptian-style dance blended with folkloric and fusion influences.
