Success at 70 might look like walking up the stairs without having to stop halfway and catch your breath.

That's why I love training seniors. The goals are REAL.

You're not training because you desperately need bigger biceps for Saturday night. You're training because you want life to feel easier.

You want to walk around when you're travelling without constantly looking for somewhere to sit. You want to garden and still be able to move the next morning. You want to play with the grandchildren and still have some energy left when they go home.

1. Choose a life goal, not just a fitness goal.
2. Connect exercises to your life — squats for chairs, carrying for groceries, balance work for steadier movement.
3. Notice what becomes easier.

I don't care how impressive your workout looks. I care about what that workout allows you to do outside the session.

Want everyday movement to start feeling easier again? Comment “MOVE” and we’ll get back to you.

If you only practise your balance when you nearly trip over the garden hose… we're leaving the training a little late!

Balance isn't something we either have or don't have. It can be trained.

Stand beside your kitchen bench. Hold it lightly. Lift one foot just a few centimetres from the floor and see if you can maintain your position.

1. Start with support. Keep a hand close to the bench.
2. Progress gradually. Use less hand support or hold a little longer as you improve.
3. Train both sides. You might discover one side feels completely different from the other.

In our Senior sessions, we take this further with strength, coordination, changing positions and appropriately progressed balance challenges.

And yes… there is plenty of wobbling. Usually followed by plenty of laughing.

Want to work on feeling steadier and more confident on your feet? Comment “BALANCE” and we’ll get back to you.

“I know I should exercise, but my knee hurts… and I'm scared training will make it worse.”

This is one of the biggest roadblocks I hear from seniors. You've got arthritis. An old shoulder injury. A sore back. A knee that occasionally likes to remind you of every questionable decision you've made since 1973.

So avoiding exercise feels like the safe choice. The problem is that staying inactive can mean becoming weaker, stiffer and less confident in your movement.

Our approach isn't “Ignore the pain and keep going!” It's: “Let's find a movement your body CAN do comfortably, and build from there.”

1. Modify before you abandon.
2. Learn the difference between effort and pain.
3. Strengthen appropriately with well-selected movements.

This is why we keep our Senior groups small. We want to SEE how you're moving and adjust exercises to suit you. You deserve exercise that is safe — but still effective.

Worried that an existing injury means exercise isn't for you? Comment “SAFE” and we’ll get back to you.

The first time you stand up from a chair without pushing yourself up with your hands… THAT'S a fitness milestone.

No medal. No cheering crowd. Nobody posts your time on a leaderboard. But you notice. And suddenly you think: “Hang on… that was easier.”

Maybe you're not puffing as much walking up the stairs. Maybe you can bend into the kitchen cupboard without your knees complaining quite as loudly. Maybe you stood on one leg longer than you could last month. Maybe you got down to play with your grandchild — and didn't immediately start planning an emergency rescue operation to get back up!

1. Pick one everyday movement to monitor.
2. Look for improvements beyond the scales — strength, balance, energy, confidence and mobility.
3. Celebrate the small stuff. Five extra seconds of balance is progress. A heavier dumbbell is progress. Showing up consistently is progress.

Small wins become bigger wins. And bigger wins become confidence.

Want to start creating your own little wins? Comment “READY” and we’ll get back to you.

“Moshe, I haven't exercised in 10 years… am I actually fit enough to join your Senior classes?”

This question comes up ALL the time. My answer is simple: You don't get fit so you can start training. You start training so you can get fitter.

Some people arrive with knee pain. Some have back discomfort. Some haven't lifted a weight in years. And some walk into their first session thinking, “What on earth have I signed myself up for?” That's okay.

Our classes are small, with exercises adjusted around the individual. You might use a chair while someone beside you doesn't. You might use a lighter weight. Someone else might need a different exercise altogether. Same class. Different bodies. Different starting points.

1. Tell your coach what you're worried about. Good coaching starts with understanding YOUR body.
2. Start below your maximum. Your first session isn't a test.
3. Stop comparing yourself with the person beside you. Your competition is the version of YOU who walked into the first session.

Safe enough that you feel confident. Challenging enough that you actually improve.

Haven't exercised in years and not sure where to begin? Comment “START” and we’ll get back to you.

“I’m worried that one day I’ll need my kids to help me with things I can still do myself today.”

I hear versions of this from seniors more often than you might think.

It’s rarely about wanting to look younger or fit into smaller clothes.

It’s about **independence**.

You want to carry your own shopping. Get yourself out of a chair. Walk confidently through the garden. Travel. Pick up the grandchildren. Go up the stairs without wondering whether your knees are going to cooperate today. 😅

And when those little everyday things start becoming harder, it can be scary.

But losing strength as you age doesn’t mean you should stop using your body.

It means we need to **start training it differently.**

Here are 3 things you can start doing:

**1️⃣ Practise getting out of a chair.**
Sit toward the front, place your feet underneath you and stand up slowly. Try 5 repetitions. Use your hands if you need them — we're training, not auditioning for the Olympics!

**2️⃣ Don't rely on walking alone.**
Walking is fantastic, but your body also needs resistance, balance and mobility work to help maintain your physical capabilities.

**3️⃣ Train for YOUR life.**
If gardening matters to you, train bending and lifting. If travelling matters, train your legs and endurance. If grandchildren matter, train the strength to keep up with them!

That’s exactly what our **Stay Strong & Independent Program** is built around.

Not exercising for the sake of exercise.

**Training today so you can keep living independently tomorrow.**

Want to stay stronger and independent as you age?

🎉 **6 MONTH MILESTONE — CONGRATULATIONS JANICE!** 🎉

Another amazing Soulful Training milestone to celebrate today! Our wonderful **Janice has officially been training with us for 6 months!** 💛💪

If there’s one thing we know about Janice… she LOVES picking up those weights! 😂🏋️‍♀️

Over the past 6 months, she has shown such a commitment to improving her strength. She comes to training ready to work, challenges herself and continues to prove just how much stronger we can become when we stay consistent.

And the progress is showing! 💪🔥

But what makes Janice so special to our Soulful Training community goes far beyond the weights she lifts.

She ALWAYS has a smile on her face. 😊

She’s friends with everyone, makes people feel welcome and brings such a fantastic energy to the group every time she comes to training.

And THAT is what Soulful Training is all about.

Yes, we want to become stronger.
Yes, we want to improve our fitness.
Yes, we want to keep challenging ourselves.

But we also want to enjoy the journey and surround ourselves with people who make showing up the best part of the day. 💛

Janice, you are such a wonderful example of that.

Your smile, your energy and your willingness to keep picking up those weights make you such an important part of our community.

We absolutely LOVE having you in the group, and we can't wait to see how much stronger you're going to become over the next 6 months!

🏆 **Congratulations on your 6-month milestone, Janice!**

Keep lifting. 💪
Keep smiling. 😄
And most importantly… keep bringing that amazing Janice energy to every session! 💛🎉

🎉 **6 MONTH MILESTONE — CONGRATULATIONS KEVIN!** 🎉

Today we’re celebrating a very special Soulful Training milestone — **Kevin has officially been training with us for 6 months!** 💪🥳

And what a 6 months it has been!

Kevin is one of those members who brings an incredible attitude to his training. He trains hard, he’s super consistent, and he’s always willing to challenge himself and see what he can do.

Even when a few aches and pains pop up, Kevin doesn’t use them as an excuse to stop moving. We find the right modifications, work around what we need to, and he keeps showing up and putting in the effort. 👏

And that consistency is paying off BIG TIME!

Over the past 6 months, we’ve seen Kevin make significant improvements in both his **strength and balance**. He’s moving better, getting stronger and continuing to take on new challenges in his sessions. 💪⚖️

But Kevin also understands something we love at Soulful Training…

Life is about BALANCE! 😂🍺

He loves hanging out, enjoying a b**r and having a good time — while still making his health and fitness a priority.

Because being healthy doesn't mean giving up the things you enjoy. It's about building habits that fit into your life and finding a balance you can actually maintain.

Kevin, we absolutely love having you as part of the Soulful Training community. Your consistency, willingness to challenge yourself and positive attitude are exactly what we're all about.

You've achieved so much in your first 6 months, and we can't wait to see how much stronger you become from here!

🏆 **Congratulations on your 6-month milestone, Kevin!**

Here’s to getting stronger, improving that balance, taking on plenty more challenges… and still enjoying a well-earned b**r along the way! 🍻😂

Keep it up, legend! 💪💛
