In case your PT told you otherwise, the “perfect squat” is a myth… sorta… 🤔

There is no single posture, stance width, or foot angle that works for every body. Your unique biomechanics dictates exactly how your body needs to move to stay balanced and stacked.

Stop forcing your anatomy into a cookie-cutter standard that doesn’t work for most people anyway. Your “perfect squat” technique is personal to you 🫵 And if you need help finding it, DM us and book a session with our coaches or physio.

🛑 Stop blindly listening to generic squat advice 🙅‍♂️ You may have been told to “keep your feet narrow, bar high, and NEVER let your knees pass your toes...” ☝️ But if your squat feels like a constant balancing act, you’re probably following advice that wasn’t created for your biomechanics.

Squats should feel incredibly balanced and stacked, allowing you to drop straight down into your hips rather than fighting to stay upright. If they don’t, you might need to have a look at your set-up, and consider how your body proportions affect your centre of mass.

Next time you’re at the rack, try adjusting your stance, playing with the bar placement, tweaking your grip, and make sure that the weight is truly stacked and felt in the middle of your foot. Your unique body proportions dictate your lift, not some idealistic textbook advice.

Are passive recovery tools just a trend or your best training weapon?

Honestly, we think they’re overrated 🤷‍♀️

People often use them as a band-aid solution for poor load and stress management 😮‍💨 But in reality, you just need to be smart with your training volume, sleep, nutrition, and looking after your mental health, so that you don’t reach a point where you’re constantly relying on them in the first place.

That being said, when you’re pushing through a massive training block or nearing a competition and everything feels heavy, these tools become absolutely indispensable for both your body and your brain when the stress and load is necessary.

In Summary ➡️ They have a place in your routine, but just remember that being smart with your training and lifestyle is the real secret to not needing them in the first place.

“I didn’t even think I could hit a 200kg squat...” 🤯

If you’re just joining us, meet Kai 🥋 He’s a National Champion martial artist who’s been trapped in a cycle of back and neck injuries. In our last post, we identified the problem: his massive 170kg squat strength was being held hostage by mechanics that were leaking energy and causing pain.

The Fix:
We moved away from a forced arch (which was crunching his spine) and focused on:

1️⃣ Surface Area: Spreading the back to create a bigger shelf.
2️⃣ Stacking: Ribs over pelvis to eliminate “leaks.”
3️⃣ Proximity: Keeping the bar closer to his midline.

By spreading the back and bringing the ribcage down, we didn’t just make him stronger—we made him stable, putting the load back where it belongs.

The Result:
Kai’s reaction says it all 🤩 He went from a wavering 110kg to a rock-solid 145kg in one session. No neck pressure, no “shifting” in the spine, and ZERO pain, all without a belt!

This just goes to show when you stop fighting your own anatomy, the ceiling for your strength disappears. And that 100kg Sn**ch goal? It’s officially back on the menu. 🏋️
