STRONG GIRLS
BJJ might not be the obvious choice for teenage girls. But it should be.
Netball. Dance. Volleyball. Gymnastics.
There are plenty of great sports for teenage girls, but Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers something pretty different.
BJJ teaches girls to take up space, stay calm under pressure and trust themselves.
It builds physical strength, coordination and fitness, but the bigger benefits happen off the mats:
- Confidence without needing to be the loudest person in the room.
- Resilience because things don’t always go your way.
- Problem solving when you’re tired, uncomfortable or stuck.
- Body confidence by learning what your body can actually do.
- Self-defence skills that are practical and pressure tested.
- Discipline that comes from showing up and doing the work.
- A supportive community where progress matters more than perfection.
And perhaps most importantly, BJJ teaches teenage girls that being strong doesn’t mean being aggressive.
It means being capable.
Not the obvious choice. But one that can make a huge difference.
