🌟 RDC TEAM OF THE YEAR 🌟

A huge congratulations to Year 11 players Thomas Willis and Marley McLaren, who were both selected in the Regional Development Council (RDC) Metro North Male Team of the Year!

The boys took part in the RDC Team of the Year round-robin carnival at Noranda JFC on Wednesday, with Metro North taking out the cup after wins over both Metro Central and Metro South. 🏆

There was even more to celebrate before the games, with the season’s Fairest & Best awards presented:
🏅 Thomas Willis – Fairest & Best, Year 11/12 Male North 3 Competition
🥉 Marley McLaren – 3rd Fairest & Best

An outstanding achievement from both boys, particularly as bottom-age Year 11 players competing in the Year 11/12 competition.

What a season, Thomas and Marley! The Cats are incredibly proud of you both.

🏆 COACHES OF THE YEAR 🏆

Huge congratulations to our 2026 Coaches of the Year winners!

👏 Kane Kuenen – Year 7/8 Girls Coach
👏 Max Coyne – Year 9 Boys Coach

A very well deserved recognition of two fantastic coaches who have given so much to their players and our club this season. SO much goes on behind the scenes that is unseen from planning, liaising, supporting, analyzing and all the emotional labour. We are incredibly lucky to have such dedicated volunteers leading and supporting our young Cats.

A special thank you to Basil Zempilas MLA, Member for Churchlands and Leader of the WA Liberal Party, for his continued support of Wembley Downs JFC and our volunteer community and for generously sponsoring our Coaches of the Year awards.

Congratulations Kane and Max!

A huge congratulations to Eve Mellody, who has been awarded the joint 2026 Players’ Player Award for the Claremont Football Club (Womens) Rogers Cup team! 🏆

An incredibly special award, voted by your teammates, and such a wonderful reflection of the player and teammate you are.

We are beyond proud of you, Eve. What an achievement and so very well deserved!

💥💥 5️⃣0️⃣ GAMES FOR ARCHIE 💥💥

Archie is a leader both on and off the field and the kind of player every coach wants on their team. Loyal to his teammates, incredibly disciplined and an all round outstanding young man, he is an absolute pleasure to coach. On the field, Archie is a consistent ball hunter — tough, quick, composed and incredibly reliable. He plays hard, never takes a backward step and can always be counted on to give everything for his team. Archie’s skills are simply incredible.

A brilliant teammate, a fierce competitor and simply a great kid 💙

💯 100 GAMES FOR HARVEY 💙🤍

A huge congratulations to Harvey on reaching the incredible 100 game milestone for the Cats! Highly competitive, fast, agile and seriously skilled, Harvey is a hugely versatile player. He does plenty of his best work down back but is just as comfortable moving onto the wing — and certainly doesn’t mind sneaking forward to slot a few goals!

Harvey’s footy knowledge extends beyond playing too, with plenty of time spent umpiring and giving back to the game. A fantastic achievement from a talented footballer who absolutely loves his footy.

Congratulations on 100 games, Harvey — an awesome milestone!

Go Cats! 💙🤍

💙 PREMIERS 💙

What a HUGE win for our Year 8 boys, knocking off an undefeated West Coast to claim the Grand Final! The game was set up by an enormous third quarter effort, holding West Coast scoreless while kicking against the breeze. Then, with the wind at their backs in the final term, the Cats had a great run on piling on the goals to seal an incredible victory.

An outstanding team performance and a premiership these boys will remember for a very long time.

🏆 YEAR 9 GRAND FINAL DERBY 🏆

Congratulations to our Year 9 teams on a brilliant game of footy. Pure class. Pure sportsmanship. Absolute credits to our club.

A nail biter from siren to siren our White team were the victors. The fourth quarter was absolutely epic, with our Blues mounting a huge charge and giving it everything right to the final siren, falling just 6 points short.

Congratulations Whites and commiserations to our Blues — an outstanding effort from both teams and a Grand Final our club can be incredibly proud of.
