Most players think they’re improving.
They feel like they’re getting better.
But they’ve got nothing to prove it.
Over the past 8+ months I’ve logged:
➡️ 1,287 scored drill entries
➡️ 244 training days
➡️ 49 different drills tracked
This isn’t just “practice”…
This is measured development.
Here’s what the data actually shows:
➡️ Straight potting has become a genuine strength
➡️ Harder drills are improving over time (not just easy ones)
➡️ Consistency is being built — not guessed
➡️ Weak areas are clearly exposed (not hidden)
And here’s the big one…
➡️ My ability to run tables still lags behind my raw skill
That matters.
Because it tells me exactly where the next jump is coming from.
Most players train based on feel.
Strong players train based on evidence.
Bad session? Doesn’t matter.
The data doesn’t lie.
Confidence built on emotion disappears.
Confidence built on proof stays.
This is the difference between:
➡️ “I think I’m getting better”
and
➡️ “I know exactly what’s improving and what’s not”
Exposure without structure = ball hitting
Structure without tracking = guessing
But structured training + measurement = real confidence
If you want to stop guessing and start knowing where your game is at…

One of the biggest shifts I see in players isn’t more table time…
…it’s how they think about their game.
Here’s what Bel had to say after starting the The 12-Week 8-Ball Performance Accelerator:
“I’m spotting my mistakes clearly now — same patterns, same errors — and actually fixing them the next day on the table.
Even in matches, I’m analysing every miss instead of guessing.
The weekly check-ins keep me accountable.
This program covers everything.”
➡️ This is the difference between hoping you improve… and actually building a system that forces improvement.
➡️ Awareness leads to correction
➡️ Correction leads to consistency
➡️ Consistency leads to results
Most players stay stuck because they repeat mistakes without ever seeing them clearly.
Bel’s not doing that anymore — and that’s why she’s improving.

That moment when it clicks… and other people start noticing.
One of my students, Dush, sent this through after his match this week:
“A lot of people were saying how good I was playing… it made me appreciate all the effort I’ve been putting in.”
This is what real progress looks like.
Not a lucky run.
Not a one-off performance.
It’s built.
Session by session.
Rep by rep.
Decision by decision.
And then one day…
People on the outside start saying it before you even realise it yourself.
That’s the shift.
At Pool Shark Coaching, we don’t chase quick fixes.
We build players who:
➡️ Trust their process
➡️ Show up under pressure
➡️ Perform consistently, not occasionally
Dush didn’t just “start playing well.”
He earned it.
Now it’s showing.

You miss one ball…
And suddenly everything starts to unravel.
Body tightens.
Frustration kicks in.
Your next decision gets rushed.
One mistake… becomes three. 🎱
Here’s the truth:
𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁.
𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲.
The miss isn’t the problem.
It’s what happens 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿.
Most players carry it forward.
It shows up as:
➡️ Rushing the next visit
➡️ Forcing shots to “make up for it”
➡️ Negative self-talk creeping in
➡️ Losing control of tempo and decisions
Strong players don’t avoid mistakes.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿.
A simple reset you can use immediately:
➡️ Step back from the table
➡️ Take one deep, controlled exhale
➡️ Say (internally): “Next decision.”
That’s it.
No overthinking.
No replaying the miss.
Detach… and move forward.
Because the faster you reset…
The less damage the mistake does.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.
Inside 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟴-𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹 I break down the full reset protocol so one mistake never turns into a lost frame.

Big step yesterday.
I had my first session with Stephen Feeney as part of my SightRight accreditation… and honestly, it exceeded expectations.
We didn’t just talk mechanics — we went deep into the journey of SightRight, why it’s so disruptive, and how it’s changing the game across precision sports like cue sports, golf, darts, and shooting.
This isn’t just another “technique tweak.”
This is a shift in how players see the game.
What excites me most is what’s ahead.
Next week, I go through my own sighting journey as a player — understanding my visual alignment on a whole new level.
And here’s the big part…
I’ll be the first coach in Australia to bring this into my coaching.
That matters.
Because the players I work with won’t just be guessing anymore — they’ll have clarity, structure, and a system behind how they aim and see shots.
This is just the beginning.
Can’t wait for next week 🔥
