Prehistoric archery equipment found in a cave near Granada, Spain, is shedding new light on how our ancestors hunted during the Stone Age. The most remarkable part of the discovery was two 7,000-year-old bowstrings made from the dried tendons of goats, boars, and roe deer. The tendons were twisted together to make strong, flexible strings that were then attached to bows. Archaeologists also uncovered arrows that still had their original feathers connected to them and shafts that were coated with birch pitch for both protective and aesthetic reasons. Now, researchers are saying this discovery "redefines our understanding of Neolithic technologies": https://inter.st/2191
