A huge congrats to the latest round of the VenuesWest Ambassadors, 5 of the 6 athletes named are WAIS athletes 🎉

The 2026-27 ambassador cohort includes:
• Luke Egger – WAIS athlete, Canoe Sprint, Australian Senior Team;
• Taishar Ovens – WAIS athlete, Wheelchair Basketball, Australian Gliders;
• Katelyn Smith – WAIS athlete, Para Unit, Football, ParaMatildas;
• Alanah Yukich – WAIS athlete, Hurdles, Australian Team;
• Alyssa Burgess – WAIS athlete, Swimming, Australia A Swim Team; and
• Anika Gosling – Discus.

Since its inception in 2017, the VenuesWest Ambassador Program has provided $252,000 to more than 30 Western Australian athletes who have gone on to represent Australia or their sport at the highest level 🚀

A new chapter for Para sport in Australia 💛💚

With six years to go until Brisbane 2032, the Para Futures Cup has been created to give emerging Para athletes the opportunity to compete on a national stage and take the next step on their high-performance journey 🙌

Athletes from across the country will join forces in four state and territory teams, creating a unique national competition designed to support the next generation of Australian Paralympians 🥇

🥇 Inez Miller - Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay
Inez helped Australia to gold alongside Lani Pallister, Hannah Casey and Milla Jansen in a Championship Record 7:42.40 - holding off the USA and Katie Ledecky! 🤯

🥉 Iona Anderson claimed bronze in the Women’s 50m Backstroke final in 27.60, after qualifying 7th in the morning in 28.01.

Bronze in Plovdiv, Bulgaria last Saturday for our Tom Gatti-coached U19 Women's Four - all proud West Australians: Oceane Jeannerat, sisters Charlotte and Olivia Hansen-Knarhoi, and Stella Wandel 🥉

A brilliant final on the world stage, delivered by a crew who trained at WAIS in the lead-up to this World Rowing Championships campaign ✨
