Confidence Tip 71

23/07/2026

The best networking contact you will ever make is the one you stayed in touch with.

Not the one you met once and never contacted again.

Great networking is a long game.

Be genuinely useful to people over time. Check in. Share something relevant. Ask how they are going.

Be the kind of contact you would like to have.

Who is someone in your network you should reach out to this week?

You do not have to love networking to be good at it.

Most people who are great at it still find it a bit draining.

The trick is having a system. Know what you will do when you arrive.

Have a few go-to questions ready.

Set a small goal: three conversations, two follow-ups, one connection.

Then give yourself permission to go home and recharge.

Confidence Tip 70

21/07/2026

Before you say a word at a networking event, your body is already talking.

Uncross your arms. You look approachable.

Stand tall. You look confident, even if you do not feel it.

Make eye contact. Not a stare. Just enough to say 'I see you.'

Smile. It is free and it works every time.

Confidence Tip 68

Networking is not about collecting contacts. It is about building relationships.

Nobody wants to be sold to at a networking event.

They want to be heard, understood and remembered.

If someone leaves your conversation feeling good, you have done your job.

The sale, the referral, the opportunity — those come later.

What is your number one rule for networking events?

19/07/2026

The event was just the beginning. The real work happens afterward.

Send a message within 48 hours while you are still fresh in their memory.

Reference something specific from your conversation.

No pitch. No agenda. Just 'great to meet you.'

The gold is in the follow-up. Always has been.

What does your follow-up process look like after a networking event?

18/07/2026

Introverts are often brilliant at networking. They just do not know it yet.

You prefer depth over small talk. That is a strength.

You listen well. That is rare.

You think before you speak. People notice.

You do not need to work the whole room. Work your corner of it.

Are you an introvert who networks? I would love to hear how you approach it.
