Sir Doug Nicholls Round at the Bombers ❤️🖤

A magical autumn night at Coolbinia.

Our Sir Doug Nicholls Round celebration brought the club together for a very special evening of culture, connection and community.

The smoking ceremony, dancing, didgeridoo and the stillness of a beautiful autumn night made it feel like one of those rare footy club moments that stays with people.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped bring the night together, and to those who shared culture, time and care with our Bombers community.

Nights like this remind us that junior footy is about much more than the game. It is about belonging, respect, learning, and creating memories our kids will carry with them.

A truly special night at the Bombers. 🔴⚫

What a debut for Stella Bardon❤️🖤

Stella made her WAFLW League debut for East Perth Football Club Inc and played her role in a thrilling one point win over Peel - Royals 5.5.35 to 5.4.34!

1st League game, nine disposals, one point win. A relaxed little Saturday, assuming your idea of relaxed is watching footy through your fingers!!

Well done Stella. The Bombers are very very proud of you. 🔴⚫

Part 4 of Sophie’s Story ❤️🖤

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close (Volunteering WA Lotterywest) , we also wrap up Sophie’s story.

Starkick All Abilities helped Sophie build even more friendships, confidence and connection, while Sophie gave the Bombers something every club needs more of: a young person who makes everyone around her feel welcome, valued and part of things

In this final episode, Sophie talks about her hopes for the future and encourages others to volunteer!

Her story is a reminder that volunteering is not just about what you give. It is also about what it gives back to you. And when that happens, whole communities become stronger .

This series is also a reminder of the kind of person Sophie is. Generous with her time, thoughtful with others, and someone who genuinely makes the Bombers better just by being part of it. We’re very lucky to have her at the Bombers. Thanks Sophie!!

Thank you to every volunteer at the Bombers and every community club. Your time, care and energy genuinely make a difference

Credit and thanks to Starkick, the remarkable Rob Geersen! Metro Central Regional Development Council for commissioning this series, and all the De Masi family — a great Bombers family!

Thanks too to Bendigo Bank (North Perth Community Bank Branch) and Alkira Care Services and Kinetic IT who have been wonderful investors in our Starkick program and community

Great moments in community footy ❤️🖤

Last weekend, Morley Bulldogs Junior Football Club Year 3 player Jacob stopped during the game to check on an injured Coolbinia player.

Coolbinia Year 3 Black coach Damien McVeigh made sure Jacob was recognised for his sportsmanship, exactly the sort of moment junior footy should celebrate!

Well done, Jacob. Great footy. Better human-ing. Now forcing local junior football analysts to update their “future club legend” spreadsheets

Kudos Damien! spotting a really good quality and calling it out, and quietly making the world better one Saturday morning mods game at a time!!

Have a great season and go well, Jocob and Year 3 Bulldogs ❤️🤍💙

Part 3 of Sophie’s Story ❤️🖤

Starkick All Abilities has given Sophie friendships, confidence, connection and memories she’ll carry well beyond junior footy.

In Part 3 of this 4 part series, Sophie shares how volunteering fits into her life alongside school, home, friends and everything else, and talks about the the joy, friendships and opportunities voluteering has brought into her own life.

During National Volunteer Week (Volunteering WA & Lotterywest , and every week of the year, we celebrate and thank every person who gives so selflessly to support others. 🙏

“There’s a volunteer in all of us. Find your place, and when you do, you’ll help make our communities stronger.”

A great reminder of why volunteers matter.

Credit and thanks to StarKick, Metro Central Regional Development Council for commissioning this series, and to Sophie and all the De Masi family — a great Bombers family!

50 games for Eve H ❤️🖤

A great milestone for one of our Year 7/8 girls, earned through commitment, courage and plenty of hard ball gets.

Huge thanks as well to Eve’s family behind the scenes. Every 50 game player has a small logistics department at home: support, sideline cheering, and the occasional heroic search for a missing mouthguard.

Well done Eve 🔴⚫

Part 2 of Sophie’s Story: Giving Back ❤️🖤

As part of National Volunteer Week (Volunteering WA with Lotterywest ), we continue celebrating the people who give their time so others can play, belong and be part of a community.

In this episode, Sophie helps prepare for the Purple Hands Fremantle Dockers Starkick All Abilities Gala Day, one of the most important events on the Starkick calendar.

A Bomber since Auskick, Sophie now spends her Sundays helping lead and encourage our StarKick footballers, and showing what community footy is really about: inclusion, connection and giving back.

During National Volunteer Week, and every week of the year, we celebrate and thank every person who gives so selflessly to support others. ❤️

“There’s a volunteer in all of us. Find your place, and when you do, you’ll help make our communities stronger.”
