Another great afternoon of Power Yacht Time Trialling at RFBYC, with 15 boats taking on 12 checkpoints for the Xindi Trophy, kindly donated by Vice Commodore Geoff Wells.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who made today possible โ€“ Sandra Whelan, Ian Clark, Frank Mike, our Start Team and all of the Club volunteers rostered on checkpoint duty.

We were also fortunate to have Jim Henry out on the start boat capturing the action with his drone โ€“ thank you Jim!

A special part of todayโ€™s event was the Pathfinder 25 Trophy, awarded to the boat with the least total points lost on handicap with a skipper or navigator aged 25 or under.
It was fantastic to have five young competitors eligible this year:

Lena Wilson โ€“ Karrawa, aged just 8
Luke Cummins โ€“ Havana, 14
Florence Crugnale โ€“ Lipari, 14
Ella Tremain โ€“ Daybreak, 17
Alexis Anderson โ€“ Azure, 18

๐Ÿ† Congratulations to our 2026 Pathfinder 25 Trophy winner โ€“ Ella Tremain aboard Daybreak! The trophy proudly accepted on behalf of Ella by her Dad, Commodore Mark.

Itโ€™s wonderful to see the next generation getting involved in Power Yacht Time Trialling, and we hope all of our young competitors enjoyed their day on the water.

๐Ÿ“… Coming Up

Next Saturday, 12 September, is the final CPYA State Heat for the year. Entries close Wednesday, so make sure youโ€™re entered if you plan to compete.

Then on Saturday, 19 September, we wrap up the Club season with the Closing Day Postrax Trophy Time Trial, followed by the RFBYC Power End of Season Presentations from 4.00pm in the Athol Hobbs Room. Please remember to book for the presentations for catering purposes.

Finally, CPYA Prize Night will be held at RPYC on Friday, 2 October. Weโ€™re hoping to see RFBYC feature strongly in the teams results, so it would be great to have a big Club contingent there to celebrate!

Thanks to everyone who competed, volunteered and supported todayโ€™s event.

Another great afternoon on the water with 23 boats turning out for Race 20 of the Magic Hand Carwash Midweek Winter Series.

It was a fairly gentle affair weather-wise, with light winds across the course and the breeze only reaching a maximum of around 11 knots on Melville Water โ€“ just as boats were making their way home to the finish in Freshwater Bay.

Weโ€™re now well and truly into the pointy end of the Winter Series, with just six races remaining. With every result becoming increasingly important, thereโ€™s still plenty to race for and the competition across the fleets is heating up!

A big thank you to our wonderful Race Management Team who give their time to get everyone away, around the course and safely back to the Club each week. Midweek racing simply wouldnโ€™t happen without the people behind the scenes each Thursday, and their contribution is always greatly appreciated.

We also extend a big thank you to Magic Car Wash for their fantastic ongoing support of the Midweek Winter Series. Weโ€™re very grateful to have them on board as our series sponsor. Don't forget to show your membership card at their North Fremantle and Palmyra locations to get your discounted car wash.
