Wingless Sprints WA Unveils Exciting 2026/27 Calendar

Wingless Sprints WA is pleased to unveil its 2026/27 race calendar, with another action-packed season set to take competitors and fans across Western Australia in a schedule featuring visits to some of the state's premier speedway venues.

The Wingless Sprints WA Championship Series will once again provide the backbone of the season, with eight rounds scheduled from October through April before the campaign concludes with the prestigious 2027 Western Australian Title at Carnarvon Speedway.

The season roars into life at the Perth Motorplex with Fast Friday on Friday, October 30, doubling as Round One of the Championship Series, before the popular Westernapolis event takes centre stage the following night.

From there, the Championship Series heads south to Bunbury Speedway on November 7 before making its annual visit to Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway later in the month.

December will see a busy run of racing, beginning with another doubleheader at the Motorplex for the ever-popular Garry Walsh Cup, followed by a trip to Albany Speedway Club for Round Five of the Championship Series.

After the Christmas break, attention turns to one of the biggest nights on the calendar, with the Speedweek Finale at the Perth Motorplex on Friday, January 8 serving as Round Six of the Championship Series. The season also features the return of Midweek Mayhem in February, providing fans with a unique Wednesday night spectacle under lights.

March will see competitors pause their local championship campaigns while many of the state's best are expected to head interstate to contest the Australian Wingless Sprint Racing Championship.

Local racing resumes with the Late Model Nationals meeting at the Perth Motorplex on Friday, March 12, which also hosts Round Seven of the Championship Series.

The Championship Series reaches its conclusion at Moora Speedway for Des Nash Memorial on Saturday, April 3, before one final Fast Friday at the Motorplex on April 9 provides another opportunity for competitors to fine-tune their packages ahead of the biggest event of the season.

The 2026/27 campaign will culminate with the Western Australian Wingless Sprint Title at AshFuels Carnarvon Speedway across April 24 and 25, where the state's best will battle for the coveted blue plate.

With racing scheduled across metropolitan and regional venues, the calendar provides competitors with a diverse range of tracks while giving fans throughout Western Australia the opportunity to witness Wingless Sprint racing at its very best.

IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT!

The Northern Aspect Construction Norwest Championships are here, with two huge nights of racing set to light up AshFuels Carnarvon Speedway this weekend.

A strong contingent of 15 Wingless Sprint drivers will battle it out in the Autopro Carnarvon Fruitbowl Classic, with fast-paced qualifying, intense heat races and plenty on the line when the racing gets underway from 5pm.

Don't forget to head to the clubrooms after racing on Saturday night for the Drivers Draw. It's open to everyone and a great opportunity to be part of the weekend festivities.

Sunday night will wrap up the event with presentations and a buffet dinner for just $15 per person. No tickets are required – simply pay as you line up.

Spectator gates open from 2pm both days, so get in early and secure your spot.

DES NASH MEMORIAL RECAP

A big night at the Motorplex for the $10,550 to win Des Nash Memorial, but it wasn’t the results we were chasing, and we were on the back foot from the get-go after a tough qualifying session put both cars deep in the field early.

W7 – Brandon
Qualified P6, then went 6th > 5th in the heat.
Made more progress in the B Main, charging from 6th to 4th to transfer into the feature.

Rolled off P27 in the 30-lap A Main and put together a solid drive forward, picking off cars and staying clean to finish P20.

W58 – Trav
Qualified P9 and finished P9 in the heat.
Started P16 in the B Main and drove forward to P8, just missing out on a transfer spot.

One of those outlaw-format nights where track position is everything and passing is tough, but both cars kept digging all night.

We’ll reset, regroup and be back this weekend for the EGT WA Wingless Title !
